Shorter name for AmigaOne X1000?

In AW, there has been some discussion if the brand name of the new AmigaOne X1000 is too long and should be renamed...

What do you think? Is the name AmigaOne X1000 the right name? X1000 is, but what about AmigaOne?

Should it probably be called AmigaTwo X1000? The second generation AmigaOne?

Or should it simply just be called Amiga X1000? But then again it would interrupt with what Amiga Inc now owns. They only own the "Amiga" brand, while Hyperion Entertainment own everything related to AmigaOS,
AmigaOne and Boing Ball..

But then again, AmigaOne X1000 is probably the rightest name anyway, but it can be shorted A1X1000

I think the name is fixed, and rebranding would be too costly.
Apart from anything else "AmigaOne" is a recognised brand name that Hyperion has access to, hence why it has been used.

You can call it "Susan" if it makes you happy, but I would expect the product name to be firmly in place by now.

Amigaone is to long for my liking but I don't think it can be shortened to just Amiga because of the settlement between Amiga Inc and Hyperion. Informally though everyone will call it Amiga so I don't see any real problem.

I only just bought a SAM440 so funds are a bit short at the moment, but if I save up really hard I will be able to afford a Susan this time next year.

Agreed both One and X1000 sounds a bit too much. But i guess it won't change because Amiga Inc only gave Hyperion right to use AmigaOne and not Amiga IIRC.

Will probably be called just X1000 by people. The name is ok for me. The more important is the hw itself and sw offcourse.

That's the same as my thinking. I think the formal name AmigaOne X1000 was the best choice in preserving the legal name. For a model number or shorter reference, I think AX1000 is good.

Maybe I should call it a SAM X1000 and confuse everyone.

Well, that situation has changed now that Hyperion Entertainment own the rights for everything related to AmigaOS, AmigaOne and Boing Ball..

The only Amiga thing Amiga Inc own now is the entire Amiga brand. That's all it has left...
