Re: Hyperion server is offline

@ddni

Ok thanks, thats clear.

Hmm, another question...

If we would have a pci-card with 1 or more CR2032 on
the card, would that give power to the cmos?

Ok, a dummy question...

If i would take 5 X CR2032 on top of eachother,
what would that give me:

5 X 3 V = 15 V

and/or

5 X batterylifetime

@Hans

I have both, but i am to dum to make a programme.

I have always asked my self how they make a
programme like for example muibank, as i want to
change and add some things for my own.

Maybe we could have some add-on kit to expand
future programs with extra buttons or so, just an idea.

Programming should be made as simple as putting a command in a dopus button. Just make a window, add buttons and then put commands to the buttons.

From a dum dummie.

Re: wbstartup

Seems like wbstartup does the job wel if the program is not
on his place but the device is present, it just moves on.

I have done an extra test by copying the clock and notepad to
an other harddisk and put them in wbstartup. Then removed
the harddisk and the workbench hangs again afther a boot.

I guess if you have a program in wbstartup and you place it for
example in an other drawer and you reboot your system that
you will run in to the same problem here.

Can someone verify this on a newer system?

Re: wbstartup

I do not know if recent systems have this problem because i
run OS4.1 update 1 (iso) on the SE.

But i guess if new users run into this problem that it is not
easy to solve it. My idea is that if you unmark the program
then wbstartup should not look up for that program on boot-up
as the user does not want it.

The workbench hangs and the center wbstartup window
with the wbstartup program icons does not appear.

Hi,

Just to tell you guys that i had a problem with wbstartup after removing
a harddisk wich had a link in wbstartup to a program on that harddisk
while it was not marked.

Had to boot with no startup-sequence and run wbstartup from amiga-dos
and remove the link to that program.

budget/business suite?
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi, yes it is me that boring guy again.

What's this again about...

I use my A1 system mostly as my budget computer and it is
the best computer to do these kind of things, at least to me.

Why, because i do not lose time with the operating system and
programs and also because it is great fun.

There for i was thinking if it would not be a good idea to make
a budget/business suite for all those amigans who want to do
there budget or even run their small business with an A1-system.

For the moment i use muibank, turbocalc and twist.

@Elwood

- check for faults on the disk (with gui that presents bad blocks)
- check for virusses
- repair disks
- do a diskcopy
- do an adf
- do a list/dir of the whole disk
- output for database
- (test in an uae-environment)
- etc...

disk-drive suite
Just popping in
Just popping in

Hi,

Like we could see in Trevor his latest blog, there is a possibility
to add a disk-drive to the X1000 whit the use of a catweasel.

We have now a program for the harddisk (toolbox?) to do many
different things on the harddisk like repare, reorganise, etc.

Would it be possible to make such a program especially for
disks and floppy's for the NG's?

Or maybe just an extension to the harddisk tool?

@orgin

Oeps, 10GB?!

Ok, forget the cd's and make it for dvd's.

Btw, never heard of it also or atleast i do not remember it.

@nubechecorre

Would be nice for the users to have something to play with
without having to connect to the internet and to download everything.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses.

Well, my idea came from the aminet-cd's with wich i am playing
now on the A1. It would be cool to have an os4depot cd too.

Maybe if a user had lots of time to do it and put the iso on
the os4depot site under login and with a serial number with it.

Maybe something like the Hyperion downloads.

Grtz.
