Great news, making the entry-level Amiga more powerful as it could be viewed as a mid-range Amiga system.
This is good, really good..

Depending on the price difference between this and the X1000, this may be the system I buy if/when I decide to move on from my SAM, especially if there are graphics card drivers released for a good PCI-e card.

System sounds really nice but only 64mb gfx RAM! and only one 1x SATA2 port! How does the 460 CPU compare to a G4@933Mhz?

@Elwood Yeah, I'm sure it will feel very fast compared to my old A1 in normal use.

@Troels 440ep vs. 460ex MHz for Mhz, you wont notice any difference apart from where the 64Kb cache comes into play. the plus points are the PCIe slots, 2gig ram max, and speeds just past 1 GHz. also, time to dig out that sata pci card you have in your amigaone so you can add cd/dvd drive as well as extra hd's.

@mr2 Contrary to the PPC400, the PPC460 has a L2 cache (256 KB). It also have an improved FPU, a PCIe controler, a higher frequency and possibly a faster memory. @ACube : Great news ! The 460 is really nice and I hope you will find a market for it. Thank you really much for your very good work.

@corto Looks like an ideal "low"-end Amiga. Not everyone will be able to afford the X1000 so this must be the closest thing to an X500 we get. Perhaps it's time to let go of the A1:)
