If usb2.0 dont come with this release then i would like usb2.0 to come as a hotfix as soon as its tested and ready so that i dont have to wait for another year. I would also like to have new UBOOT for amigaone so i can use usb mouse+kbd without uboot to check the ps2 ports first (for faster boot)
It would be nice to have it until december..but waiting 1-2 months longer is ok if the following could be achieved:
0) get rid of the orange alert messages, USB-mouse is stops worikg 1) I'd like to have more stability, My Sam is a bit prone to crashes. 2) USB 2.0 with proper fat32 support.is very important,
I am in the group of people who would love a hot fix now so I don't need to continue running a debug kernel to stop my sam440ep crashing with graphics corruption right away. My sam440ep is very stable running the debug version of the hot fix kernel, it just it would be nice not to have the slight slow down caused by running a debug kernel.
I can quite happily wait on USB2.0 being finished and stable, but I don't want to have to waiting on it being finished before we can get all the other important bug fixes to the OS that are ready for the sam440ep and have now been well tested.
I am not saying that I don't want USB2.0 or all the other interesting and important bug fixes that are being worked on, I would just prefer to see more frequent smaller updates fixing critical bugs than reserve one large release every 6-9 months.
I also want to say thanks to everyone who has worked hard to make OS4 the more modern OS we have today and I enjoy using on my sam most days.
Sam440ep 667mhz 512megs OS4.1 + Minimig, 4MB RAM, ARM add-on board WinUae 2.3.2, OS 3.9, BB2, Catweasel MkIV Amiga 1200, BlizzardPPC 060/200 with SCSI, mediatorSX, Voodoo3, pci lan
@nubechecorre My understanding is that OS4.1.1 will probably NOT come with USB2.0 or the new Shell, but that they WILL come in a subsequent "minor update" that I have nick-named 'OS4.1.2'.
So I would NOT want OS4.1.1 delayed, as that would just delay fixes to Sam's stability.
I will wait a while longer.. for a faster Amiga. If Acube releases a 460EX or any other maker releases a faster machine with support for OS4.x I will get it for sure.
