Are you an early adopter? If yes, then I would suggest you email AAA Technologies and inquire about cost and availability to get real information. If not, then I'm sure there will be real information out when the boards are available.
Once again I'll repeat that AmigaKit and A-EON aren't the ones to contact about obtaining an A1222 system. AAA Technologies is the one selling them and they actually set the final price for the systems. Early adopters do get a discount.
I have contacted AAA Technologies a few times now as an Early Adopter and I can say they have been very responsive to all my emails. I'll also say that I have already purchased an A1222 bare board with extra ram (8G) and it was significantly below 1,600 euro even with shipping from France to the U.S. I don't know what a full system would cost, and of course I don't have to pay VAT being in the U.S. but that's what I do know first hand.
My suggestion for anyone who is serious about wanting to know about the A1222, is to contact AAA Technologies via email, early adopter or not.
It is more expensive than I had hopped but I think is is a better value than the SAM460, even if a bit more expensive. I also really wanted the small form factor.

As an early adopter in the U.S., I can verify that this is what I paid for the A1222 board. It includes 4G RAM, AmigaOS4.1, Enhanncer v2.2 and a USB recovery stick.
Looks like the page is now up to order the A1222+ motherboard at EUR1199 (including VAT). For US customers, or any country outside the EU, the price should be less.

Oh? Since Discord is closed off / propriety software that the owners seemingly refuse to port to AmigaOS, it's certainly is an odd platform for A-EON to make announcements on. Would you please mind quoting their post in this thread, so that everyone can read what they have to say?

@eliyahu It maybe intresting to add to your guide what is the best 3D card that the A1222 cpu can handle and for each card tell if they play fluidly movies and at which resolution.
Any of the RadeonRX cards will do nicely. Unfortunately I don't have more than one to test, but perhaps Trevor or others can contribute information. We could compare FPS numbers with some games.

I will make some tests, but it takes some time, I will play with everything. As eliyahu wrote on his pages, all SPE compilled, and most of Warp3D Nova are very fast.
For example just tested A1222+ + RX 580: Tower 57 SPE = 71 FPS. My AmigaOne X1000 + HD7970 has 99 FPS and Powermac G5 2.7 GHz + Radeon 9800 Pro = 65-74 FPS ( according to Trevor's blog )
So if you will wait long enough, I will wrote some article. But first I made some technical comparison of P1022 and AMCC 460ex CPUs.
Also, regarding the card question, very probably is best RX 580. But it is a little overkill for A1222, it has 185 W max . Maybe is more wise some compromise like RX 550 - 50 W or RX 560 - 75 W.
