@Kas1e
You are most probably right, they are not even able to manage their shop and clients properly seeing all the people complaining about their « services ».
Customer satisfaction is low for what I have read.

Tony Wyatt is the author NGFS and he’s a good friend of Trevor so I guess that this could be resolved. Intuition and many libraries could be taken from Morphos. Many years ago I suggested Matthew to do that never heard from him until I saw my suggestions coming to life. Same for using different colors on AmigaOne so we could see Amiga :) but I guess that everyone could have the same ideas…

I think that @Hans may tell us more as he is the developer of the GFX drivers.

@eliyahu
It maybe intresting to add to your guide what is the best 3D card that the A1222 cpu can handle and for each card tell if they play fluidly movies and at which resolution.

They should have shipped it with Linux long ago and the price would have been in line with their estimations.

@kas1e
Wiki.amigaos.net do not have entry for whichworkbenchobject() maybe it’s just in the SDK, definitely not present in AmigaOS 3 by looking At the doc, might have to look at the latest 3.2 NDK though.

Re: Who is getting the A1222 Plus?

I tried AmigaOS 4 for Classic under WinUAE and i was quite disappointed by the fact that apps crashed like under AmigaOS 3. I then realized that it can’t be your primary OS without an up to date browser and even Morphos which is in better shape still can’t be used as a primary OS so what the point then? I then decided to buy a V4SA+ under 3.2.2.1 and I’m home.

They need to keep some of those 1500 CPUs for maintenance reason I guess.

@kas1e I’m pretty sure he wrote somewhere that development time was shorter it is more a combination of ObjC and the framework than the language itself.
It is known that NextStep and now OSX made it possible for a single developer or a small team to deliver apps faster and be able to be competitive against big companies. (See pimp my code by Will Shipley) of course MorphOS framework is not on par with nexstep/ISX but it’ll grow.

In Morphos land they build one or two framework in the same philosophy as NextStep using also Objective C and MUI to speed up development time and when I see their Iris email client and Wayfarer done by the same developer in a short period of time for Amiga land they maybe onto something.

Classic Amiga development vs NG

What are the advantages In developing for AmigaOS 4.1 compare to say 3.2.
Is it easier now? Time to release is shorter? Development tools and API changes made it easier to develop for NG or is it the same?
