A lot of words and titles on paper; where's the money and the action? Acer buying up Gateway is a more interesting story. Now, Acer buying up Amiga would be an ironic twist!
Seems to me that amiga Inc are bolstering up the management of the company. It is about time someone was brought in who knows a thing or two about running a business.
Well god knows what this advisory board really is. This is the first time I hear of it. In some other message, I think that McEwen said he was not really CEO anymore!? Then they have this new PR-agency. So what happened to Vince Pfeiffer? Did she resign or is she still working at Amiga?
Amiga Inc have signed up some guy no one has ever heard of before yesterday. They seem to do this all the time and still never have any real products to sell.
Would Acer buy Amiga and it would be doomed... Remember the Amiga Curse?
I was thinking of a Amiga hardware outlet for Acer. They could make a buck or two filling in the vacant Amiga computer market. I think most of Amiga's curses comes from sorry ass management and lack of capital. Sorry for dreaming out loud Ferry!
Well i've voted and to be honest it just isn't cricket. The chaps at Amiga Inc should jolly well get their act together and get some spiffing hardware out in the market place.
Awwwww, c'mon you guys, I was expecting lots of jokes....
I think this is the punch line, though; Quote:
Bill McEwen; Amiga's president said:
"The staff and board are thrilled to welcome him and look forward to applying his leadership and vast technical expertise to additional industry success for Amiga."
What "success" has Amiga inc. (W) OR Amiga Inc. (D) exactly had to this point in time?!?!??
Support Amiga Fantasy cases!!! How to program: 1. Start with lots and lots of 0's. 10. Add 1's, liberally. "Details for OS 5 will be made public in the fourth quarter of 2007, ..." - Bill McEwen Whoah!!! He spoke, a bit late.
They've successfully made an ass of themselves, thrown money away, scammed money out of people, led everyone along in the Amiga community while actually not being interested in AmigaOS, and sold some T-Shirts.
I feel an hair of frustration by diehard Amiga users/fans here...
I believe until we see something astonishing new no one outside of the AMIGA lovers base will ever take a second look at us or the AMIGA again........ Except as footnotes to computer history...........
I know this post sounds a lot like a lot of fast air coming from a balloon but if they get their crap together and port 4.0 to the classics it will start a change reaction of old/new users I am sure... back to see whats new.. and geeks = sheek maybe this will inspire a new generation or 2 of users who will take up the Amiga Banner and carry it on and on........
I suggest very strongly that there is only one-way out of this mess. Whether Hyperion, Amiga Inc or, hopefully, both release OS4 for the PS3.
Cut the Gordian Knot, break with the past and the idea that we must have our own hardware now, and look at the PS3 console as a Fixed Hardware model onto which we can not only graft our OS to, but also find a new and expanding market.
Break the deadlock in a practical way, my fear is the whole ship will simply submerge and never resurface and all the good work done will languish in neglect.
I would also point out that a quick booting OS, that is cheery and has X11 server technology, is just what the PS3 needs.
Linux is a square peg in a round whole and that is the only option at the moment.
Sony, whether it is aware of it or not, needs something like OS4. That is not a position we have been in in a long long time.
Booting from PS GAME Os into OS4 would take less time than most games to load, quitting out of it is as simple as any game (no shutdown required).
God I hope someone is reading this that can do something about it and soon!!
