I can say that for me it works fine in Odyssey (latest 1.23 r5 from jan 2 2022) on X1000.
So maybe your idea about an ad blocker or something is worth a closer look?

Best regards,
Niels

Exactly the same Odyssey and hardware setup here. Unfortunately still no joy with the adblock disabled. Even though I do have other options I would like to solve the mystery. Maybe the curl file ? I have the version dated 1/1/22 size 208065 which seems pretty upto date.

ANyway I have had a quick scan of both the Jan and Feb issues and am impressed. There seems more info there than in any of the forums or magazines. Maybe not the former but its all in one place.

@AmigaOldskooler

Hi, This is really weird. I just tried on my Amazon Fire HD with Silk, and it worked ! The site is OK with Netsurf on my X1000. Works on Chrome on Fire HD too.

Just not Odyssey on X1000 nor IE and Chrome on PC at work. The work PC may be blocking the site probably because of the word "gaming" but the message was not the usual one for that case, I'll check again next time I am in.

I can also see what happens on a MacBook Pro once I recharge it, and can also try an iPhone (I'll need to find a magnifying glass to use that!).

I can read the Roundup anyway now.

Why some work, some don't is a mystery.

Maybe I have something in Odyssey's ad blocker that is causing the problem ?

This link is not working at all for me. I tried yesterday at work on a PC too using both Chrome and IE. They seemed to indicate out of date TLS or something like that. So for once it appears not to be an Odyssey only problem.

At home using Odyssey, I get the following:

Resized Image

Any ideas as to why everyone in the world can access this link but I can't. Work and home do not use the same providers so I do not think it is a provider issue either.

It is not just that specific URL anything at amigaos4gaming.com has the same issue.

The site does not work in Odyssey. It is this Cloudflare nonesense which discriminates against browsers it does not khow about. All you get is a Captcha that you cannot get past, the same page just keeps loading. Can you please give Amiga friendly links !

@jap

Interesting but may be skewed as people that use OS4 for everything such as myself could not take part in a poll that will not run on Amiga browsers. Next time meake sure you test it out with Odyssey first.

No point really in having polls Amiga users cannot access.

@Rigo

Perhaps the retards who do Amiga polls ought to realise that people will most likely be wanting to use an Amiga bro9wser to acces it. As far as I know Chrome does not run on OS4 !

+1000

I am really sick of websites 'upgrading' from useable to not working sites. I wish these people would test their sites on all browsers anbd not just slap an upgrade your browser page on which we of course cannot do.

Likewise I get exactly the same here. If it is not a valid download why does it still show it ?

1. For dragging the window, we tried to make it as much as possible with the guid-lines of AmigaOS. So we decided to use the usual title bar for dragging.

It is an Amiga standard function. Just hold down the CTRL and L-Amiga keys and you can move ANY window, whether it has a dragbar or not, from clicking anywhere within the window.

I don't expect much time at all. CFE *used* to have that option, it is just a case of putting it back again. It makes far more sense for it there than in the OS Prefs.

In the official AmigaOne X1000 Firmware and Booting Guide (CFE) however, the CFE> setenv -p keymap_swapaltamiga "on/off variable is mentioned on page 12.

It should IMHO still be there.

A programmable keyboard does sound nice but with 2 X1000s and an old XE I cannot really justify the expense.

@Severin

> Open Input prefs and toggle the "swap alt/amiga keys" option.

Not really good enough. This only functions AFTER OS4 has been loaded. The keys are still swapped physically if you are running Linux or in the erly startup menu.

The number of times I have done a hard reboot from the ESM when I meant to do a soft reboot is far too many - especially with the S L O W initialisation at the beginning od a hrd boot. Definitely NOT a mistake that you want to do.

This really need to be done for the machine and not after an OS has loaded.

If the keys are swapped they remain swapped you do not prise them off and refit them when using the early start menu or Linux !

This needs to be (once again) in the CFE.

Yippeeeee. The title bar is back to normal.

No more scrolling when I want to go home or use the menu and I am near the bottom of the page.

Hopefully by next year the snowflakes title bar will work like this too.

I noticed it - and maybe should have mentioned it. I thought though it would get fixed before this year ! Hopefully by next year it will work properly.

@rest

I am talking obout Odyssey of course, who really cares if the site works or does not work on non-Amiga browsers!

However, I just tried both Chrome and Silk on my Amazon device and the title and menu do not work properly there either - have some wires been crossed. What I meant is that without the snowflakes the menu and title bar always stay at the top of the display, whereas with the flakes they scroll out of view so you have to scroll back to the top to click the Home button.

Having the menu options is always available is lost with the Xmas theme. It will be a css display thing.
