AmigaOS 4.x does not officially support WinUAE in any way whatsoever. The demonstration at AmiWest was done by an Amiga fan (Epsilon).

Isn't SFS supposed to be open source?

Short answer: no.

Longer answer: The original author/owner of SFS created private independent agreements with individuals. The name may be the same but that does not mean the code ownership is the same.

Hyperion server trouble

Hyperion is having a bit of trouble with the primary server which is being worked on.

Most services are affected like the support forum, software updates, AmigaOS web site, developer blog, etc.

No, Timberwolf has not been shelved. There just isn't such an urgent need to work on it now that most people are using Odyssey. There is a more urgent need to get the X5000 shipped right now.

Why, A-Eon or Hyperion, not officially admit when a project is dead ? (netbook or Warp3D on Radeon HD)

I officially announced the netbook project was cancelled when Hyperion released that information.

Therefore, why not release, for example, this pa6t_eth.device driver for every 3000€ x1000 customer since 1 year of beta-testing ?

Again, those that invest their money in the projects get to choose when/if things are released. Not you. Not me.

Well, I get paid exactly nothing for doing all this AmigaOS coordination stuff and I have enough trouble keeping track of all the AmigaOS projects that are going on simultaneously. I really don't have time to monitor all the 3rd party projects as well. Irritating indeed.

How do the rest of you see things?

It means Warp3D is going away. It does not mean anything else.

The RadeonHD Warp3D driver is a project 100% owned and operated by A-EON. I do not speak for A-EON. If you want to know what is going on with that driver then talk to A-EON.

Just because the AmigaOS development team declares something obsolete or deprecated doesn't mean 3rd party developers can't continue to use it anyway.

I just wanted to say thank you to everybody that contributed to the OpenAmiga projects so far.

I now have a large queue of incoming code to go through and figure out how to integrate it into the main OS. What a great problem to have.

Filer was the first project we received code for and it has mostly been sitting idle. I did fix it up and made sure it compiles with the latest beta includes. Then broadblues fixed a few bugs and I still need to merge his changes back into the trunk and do a beta testing release. We still aren't sure exactly how to integrate it into the rest of the OS in a way that makes sense.

Due to a big pile of the other commitments I haven't been able to go much further yet. It doesn't help when partners like A-EON dump a new hardware platform to support on you. Again, what a great problem to have.

In any case, thanks and keep up the great work!

A very cool idea!

Classic AmigaOS ROMs and the Workbench disks are no problem at all now that they are included with every copy of AmigaOS. We just need some people to help work on UAE and help improve it so that the classic experience is nicer.

You are correct regarding MUI. It is a 3rd party GUI system not under our control and thus should not be used for potential OS components.

I have also sent S.Solie a Japanese keyboard (paid for from my own pocket) which has allowed some step towards a more capable OS for actually making all this work.

Note we have another Japanese fan on the beta testing team (hi Valiant) who is also helping with this work.

Rendering the actual Unicode strings via some Text() function is rather trivial. As you already alluded to, the real problem is integrating Unicode with the rest of the system in a way that is still backwards compatible and doesn't require too much effort either.
