I tried a few URLs which I had saved as well as new YouTube URLs and Clipdown appears to start up then ... nothing. I`ve tried "Play" and also "Save"
I`m running a uA1 Amiga OS ver 4.1
Clipdown ver 3.2 dated 9 July 2010, getvideo and wget in the "C" Drawer.
Anyone else having the same trub ?

I got an email from ktadd this morning, here it is, I haven't got it to work in IBrowse, but OWB seems to work, though I'm having a problem getting it to work as described. Post what works for you.

I've found a workaround for playing YouTube files since they broke getvideo recently. Here it is:
1. Go to YouTube and left click to select a video to view. 2. Put "savefrom.net/" in front of the URL and press "Enter" (ie. savefrom.net/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piZrjDTx2eg 3. Once the links to the URL for the videos are loaded just copy one into the clipboard. 4. Click on the "ClipDown" button.
If "ClipDown" is set to "Auto Mode" the video will be downloaded. If "ClipDown is set to "Play with MPlayer" the video will be played.
Other site that www.savefrom.net supports will work as well but most will be played in "Auto Mode".
Pass it on.

Sorry, this may not work as described because I forgot I had modified ClipDown to support links produced by www.savefrom.net. The new version of ClipDown (v3.3) has just been uploaded to OS4Depot. Get that version then follow the instruction below to play YouTube videos.
Example Use to play or download YouTube videos:
If "ClipDown v3.3" is set to "Auto Action" mode the video will be played. If "ClipDown v3.3" is set to "Download File" mode the video will be downloaded.
I hope this "savefrom" hack is not need for very long, as (1) it makes ClipDown even less user-friendly & even more cumbersome, and (2) I'd rather not have to see porn links every time I want to watch a YouTube video.
No need for clipdown with OWB (MUI). Just read getvideo readme, it tells how to configure getvideo in OWB contextmenus properly (as well as in Ibrowse). Basically, you just add a contextmenu entry for the page, link and image elements, and you pass the correct parameters to getvideo.
Would you guys mind posting your settings? I just tried it with the settings mentioned in the getVideo archive and didn't have any luck. Just said the video couldn't be found (or maybe YouTube has changed their stuff again).

Only difference is i save my files to dh2:files but that should not have anything to do with it. Sounds more like its something with getvideo. Do you use getvideo 0.30 (i think its the latest) ? Does it work to get the video just by using getvideo from shell ?
EDIT: It seems i have to use "/" sign at the end of a directory for the file not be saved in the subdir. For example dh2:Files/ instead of DH2:Files.
Anyway for your problem. If you are trying to download the videos from a youtubelink inside facebook then it doesnt work as facebook is using their link before the youtubeURL. So just press on the youtubelink on facebook for it to open on own youtube window/tab and there the page category works :)
So either if getvideo gets updated to filter out facebook URL or get the author of clipdown to do this. You can contact them and see. I havent read in the manual if theres such a funktion already.
