See it from a developers standpoint. Working for free for an Update to a different OS version than what I worked for 25 years ago - sounds not like a good business plan. People who bought the OS4 version get the 68k version for free though.
I'd be willing to pay for an update that requires the original discs from the 2000 release to install the game. Half the price of the full release would be acceptable.
@TheMagicSN Is this news about Settlers II for the Amiga true?
"However, images from the show floor have already confirmed it is "The A1200" — the full-size Amiga replica that the company has been trying to release for years — and that the first playable game that will be included on the machine will be the recently announced Amiga port of The Settlers II: Gold Edition."
Yes, it is true. But if you want me to get the best share of profit - buy the copy with physical packaging (of course they cannot offer the same as a full size copy on a version included in such a deal).
@TheMagicSN So, the "The A1200" will finally be released. It will definitely be better than the “invention” from “A1200 NG” by Amigakit. Yes, purchasing your version for Amiga NG would be advisable.
It's a shame that Settlers 2 10th Anniversary isn't available on Amiga NG. It's my favorite version of “Settlers 2.” I know that technically it would be very difficult to achieve. There was no port for PPC, and the version itself was only released for Windows and DirectX.
I also think Settlers 2 will be one of the best-selling Amiga games since a long time (maybe a few 68k-only titles which sold really well being in the same region only).
I think the issue here is not that it would be impossible but that a decision was taken what game to licence. I think in many of the Settlers 2 Fan communities the Gold Edition is the one "most liked" even on PC. Some people like you might like the other version of course. But at one point the decision needed to be made which one to licence, and Gold Edition was what was decided.
And yes, 10th Anniversery edition might include Direct3D by the looks of it. But that would just make it harder, not impossible to port. Shogo also included massive Direct3D Code and was ported.

100 Collector copies sold : already 10 000 bucks in the bag!
So yes, it will be
I bought it mainly for AmigaOS 4.1 (even if i could play it on my FPGA Replay - 060/80).

Yes, I know, but I also like The Settlers II (10th Anniversary Edition) for another reason, which is why I mentioned it. While most games had versions for the Japanese and American markets, the full language version of The Settlers II: Vikings (2006) expansion pack was only available in Germany, Poland, Czech and Russia. It was a special European version of the game, which was very popular. Sorry for writing off topic.
