Re: X5000 maybe dying :(

As others have pointed out, it is probably time to remove the old thermal paste and do some cleanup and put new thermal paste there.

My AmigaONE X5000/020 was bought new from GGS-Data back in 2022-03-02... So I have had it a bit over 3 years now. I almost use it daily.

I live in the south of Sweden and we have summertime now and my CPU is showing between 65-67 degrees Celcius. Original fan, heatsink and themal paste.

@tao

There should be... at least as a shell utility... That said, I got a newer version of NGFS from someone... Can't remember who, and with that I also got a shell command... I had to reinstall AmigaOS from scratch etc, so it was a good idea to also upgrade the filesystem...

NGFilesystem 54.106

And I got a tool called NGFCheck 54.96

Re: GemRB SDL Mixer issue

@TheMagicSN @Maijestro

Hello guys... all things are sorted... but... I have some explaining to do... :)

1) I thought that all the GemRB games supported up to 1024x768 resolution. My bad.

2) To add insult to injury... my Amiga output is connected to a Elgato PCIe capture card on my PC, and that capture card doesn't like certain resolutions, such as 640x480.

https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Pro1080p ... -Technology/dp/B014MQIVPS

So... when I first started BG1 after installation, no screen was opened and I only heard audio. I looked in the .cfg file and turned off fullscreen... that solved the problem.

And then I also set a resolution to 1024x768. That was as @Majestro suggested... the game does not support that resolution.

I read on the GemRB website that they sort of solved that with their latest v0.9.x but that one requires Python 3.x which we do not have under AmigaOS 4.x (yet).

So, for me to play BG1 I either have to play in a window on WB, or connect my Amiga directly to the monitor to enjoy fullscreen 640x480.

I hope that clarify my issues. :)

@TheMagicSN

Copied the exe from 0.8.8 but I reslized that I bought GemRB after you patched it to 0.8.8.

Here is a video showing the problem.

@TheMagicSN

For me it happens in the very opening tavern. If you go in there and talk to the tavern keeper, I reproduce this issue 100%.

I have downloaded 0.8.8 from Alinea Computer.

That should be the latest?

I noticed with BG1 that dialogue options disappear for me. It is almost like the dialogue window is rendered "behind" the game... if I move the mouse around they can flicker in/out but it is quite impossible to play the game when it does that. :)

Not sure if others have had similar things?

DirScanner (68k program on Aminet) allows you to find all files that ends with .xxx.

Works fine under AmigaOS 4.x and I used it to delete .wav files en-masse after converting them to .mp3 files.

Not sure why no continues are allowed... you only have 3... they are not infinite... looks like a weird "rule" since no one can check if people use continues or not. :D

@walkero

Thanks for the link.

It looks extremely tedious to use Blender for video editing, but it is good that there is an option that works.

It would be great if there was something like a modern version of MovieShop (68k software) that was bundled with V-Lab Motion and Draco Motion hardware back in the days.

Tested this with TightVNC Viewer... works!

However, it only supports the workbench screen... When I open Dopus5 on a another screen, the viewer doesn't update... you still see the WB screen.
