Anyway, this game is way too hard (I bought it to support AmigaOS games developments), I can not manage to pass the 3rd ennemy wave.

Today the following public releases have been made available to download on Updater utility: AmiSSL v5.14

What is the point of making an annoucement for this update (except promoting your own Updater tool)?

Everytime you update this topic, I hope it is for something about updating one of the key component of Enhancer Software.

But no. AmiSSL can already be updated with AmiUpdate for OS4 (or even dowlonaded directly from many locations).

When you release the A600GS, please create a new thread named "Updater tool for A600GS : latest releases and updates" and use the old one to really announce updates for the Enhancer Software pack for AmigaOS 4.1 (or software being bought from AmiStore).

It would prevent disapointments for us, OS4, AmiStore and ESP users, waiting to have some exclusive updates (and not an automatic ones).

It will never run with Petunia (OCS/ECS game). It will only work in E-UAE.

@Thread

Here is what we can do with an AmigaOne X1000 and a Radeon RX560 :

Playing Heretic II (Hyperion - Amiga version from 1988 with audio music) :

https://video.amiga-ng.org/w/8ZDs4T1mvapgJCdJTu42We

No cinematics (resolution not supported?)

Playing a full HD video (1080p) or a heavy compressed 720p video with Emotion (notice the CPU usage for the second video than even 2,7Ghz PowerMac can't read with MorphOS) :

https://video.amiga-ng.org/w/7Vy9jzoX4f98NRgTrsKix7

Playing a YouTube video (Odyssey + aisotream + Emotion) from Invidious (website allowing you to watch YT videos without ads and way lighter than the official one) :

https://video.amiga-ng.org/w/8ttgPzHZgGRsPo6G6ig6x2

Sorry for the "humming sound" in the background, my video capture is not the best of the best unfortunately :(

Re: Upgrade X1000 to RX560 or not?
Just can't stay away

@thread

I got rid of my R7 250 Southern Island card in my X1000 even though I wanted to keep it for way longer.

And it was the best decision I made since I replaced it with a RX 560.

Let's be honest : except for supporting Hans' marvellous work on Radeon drivers, forget about using Radeon HD Driver 5.x with Southern Islands cards : it will not allow you to play any MP4 (x264) video above 720p (and even most of those ones will stutter).

The only enhancement versus the 3.x version is that instead of using 95% CPU, you will be using 10-15% of it when playing a 720p video (granted it will not stutter, which will be the case with some heavily compressed ones).

And you will lose warm reboot.

With an RX560 (ok, a little hack is needed to make it work on X1000 but it's worth the hassle), I can finally play 4k x264 videos on my X1000! I have lost the warm reboot but never mind.

I also need to use a little hack to get rid of some weird freezes but it causes some tearing sometimes (know bug wich is should be fixed in the next version of the driver).

So if you want to experience the best of your X1000, go for a RX 560 (forget about the RX 580, most of them won't display anything).

The problem is of course not the video.

youtube.py -u https://youtu.be/Gzv11K-v_AU

Thanks for the new release.

For YouTube I get this :

aiostreams vv1.7.7 (2023-12-20) - Developed by George Sokianos

KeyError: 'title'

Re: after Enhancer 2.2 upgrade, Emotion Locks up Playing MP4 Video

@AmigaSociety

No benefits at the moment buying the V5 (except from supporting Hans of course).

VA decoding doesn't work well : you won't be able to play video higher than 720p. And you will loose warm reboot.

Best option (the one I chose) : go for a Radeon RX card.

Let's hope Oliver manage to have some kind of CSS improvements in the near future since IBrowse is THE Amiga browser

Actually, I mainly use IBrowse on my FPGA Replay to go on Aminet and Amigans (sometimes on AW but no one should continue going there).

Re: Problems booting a new Sam460LE

@Hitman

You won't be able to boot with an RX560 since no driver for this card is provided by ACube (actually no RX driver is present on the bare AmigaOS 4.1 install CD or SD Card). And U-Boot doesn't display anything with RX cards.

You will have to boot with a supported graphic card by AmigaOS 4.1 from scratch (an agreement allows AmigaOS 4.1 to use a special version of the Radeon HD driver).

You'll have to install your Sam460 with a Radeon 4650 for example. Then you'll have to purchase and install the Enhancer Software v2.2 to in order to have the RX driver installed.

Then you'll be able to switch your graphic card to the RX560 and everything should work correctly.

PS : I prefer buying a whole prepared system instead of loosing lots of time trying to get everything working by myself.
