Wed, 23 Dec 2020 New Sam460cr boards will hit the road soon! ACube Systems is happy to see a new update for AmigaOS and MorphOS. We would like to make a small party with Amiga users in these difficult times. We then decided to make a small gift to the Amiga and MorphOS Community.
To celebrate the recent release of AmigaOS 4.1 FE Update 2 and MorphOS 3.14, we built a small batch of Sam460cr boards that will be available with a Christmas bundle of the following games: Gorky17 Descent Freespace The Secret of Middle City BOH
The whole bundle will be at 489 Euros. OS 4.1 FE is included in this product.
We will be ready for shipping in january 2021.
We are also preparing a new shop that will be up to the standards.
I will get one for sure even if I had pegasos2 and x5000. And for testing purposes, and for the sake of dying on my peg2 or x5000 :)
The question is : that will be a version with 1.1ghz CPU or with 1ghz? Also how many of them? I sure there demand while there no Tabor. Will be there at least 500 motherboards?
And basically, how can we hold one to be sure we got one ?:)
I honestly think that people who already own an AmigaOS 4.1 system should not buy one of these new Sam460cr.
It'd be better to let those that have been waiting for months (years?) to get an entry level system to discover the AmigaOS 4.1 world to be able to finally buy one.
I don't think there will be 500 Sam460cr tyo be sold (not even 100). It would be too costy to produce for ACube.
What AmigaOS 4.1 needs is more users, not few people owning lots of differents OS4 hardware.
@K-L As for me, I need one just for sake of all the porting stuff I do and warp3dnova/ogles2 tests, as well as for OS4 beta testing work. I thinking about getting one from beginning, just wasn't lucky enough.
I like the GPIO stuff on the Sam4x0 computers, but I have no clue what to connect to it, and I clue as to what project might need it for, well maybe I control the light in my apartment
Well might used as digital joystick inputs or indicate low battery state.

@All Was in hope that this time things will be done as promised, but in end seems I were too optimistic :)
As a side note, is there anyone willing to sell some spare sam460ex or sam460cr or x1000 or x5000? Maybe for someone, it collects dust, but for me, it will be of good use :)
I for myself got one a week ago (in the shipping process), and for me, sam460cr 1.1 bundle + 2GB module + sil card + shipping to Russia + PayPal fees, all costs me 620 eur.
@Duga Then if we mean VAT is a customs fee in my country, then currently in Russia we have no needs to pay anything if the thing is up to 200E and/or less than 31kilogram. But if more, then we pay 15% of the remaining sum. So in my case, it will be 620-200 = 420, and 15% from 420 is 63 EURO. And the final price from Acube till my flat will be 700EURO for the bundle and a bit of those additional things + I think there will be needs to pay additional 10-20Euro so someone at custom will sort out all the "documents" work for me as well without needs to spend time on, but that optional, of course.
It also can be a bit cheaper if pay not from PayPal (i do from Paypal, and they are known by their fees), it didn't take that memory and sil card (i take them as do not want to search for anything more than just a case and gfx card with HDD). So can probably be around 600 in end as well if pure bundle.
But I fear all the boards already sold out or reserved, demand as expected higher than just some little batch of new boards produced.
