Hyperion managed by liquidator; bankruptcy looming.

Hyperion managed by liquidator; bankruptcy looming. BHBV's status unclear. Hyperion Entertainment appointed interim receiver. Time will tell whether this is once again due to the omitted annual report or if there's something else behind it.

Quote:

Hyperion has been managed by a liquidator since last week
"Ben Hermans BV" (hereinafter: BHBV) is a private company with limited liability owned by Ben Hermans, which has held 97% of the shares in Hyperion since 2019 and acts as a 'director' of Hyperion on paper. In March, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated against BHBV for the second time, in the same month, Ben Hermans had already initiated the founding of a new company with the same name.

As BHBV has not published any statutory annual reports since 2021, it is currently unclear whether the company still holds the majority of shares in Hyperion. Ben Hermans has not responded to an inquiry from amiga-news.de; the appointed liquidator Charlotte Piers tells us she'll get back to us in the next few days with "a more detailed response".

Friday's edition of the Belgian Official Gazette (local copy) now contains the information that insolvency lawyer Bart De Moor has been appointed "voorlopig bewindvoerder" for Hyperion Entertainment. Machine translation tools turn "bewindvoerder" into "administrator" - but as native Dutch speakers tell us, a more accurate translation would be "receiver".

It is currently unclear who appointed De Moor as liquidator - if he had been appointed by BHBV's liquidator, this would be a clear indication that Hyperion Entertainment is part of BHBV's bankruptcy estate. We have asked Bart De Moor for confirmation and will update this news item accordingly should he respond to our questions. (cg) (Translation: cg)

Re: Radeon HD for Sam 440 Flex

Now I have a suitable Radeon HD card and needed drivers.

What I lack is correct adapter. Adapter in this thread seems to support only 33mhz, not a 66mhz Sam Flex PCI.

What would be correct adapter support 66mhz bus, any links?

I have this adapter, which seems to be 33mhz only. Is that true?

This is how I planned to use it.

Radeon card is HD7850 2GB

Slightly OT but link below has Elite Plus: Planetside

https://www.planetmic.com/fstdp/fstdp03.htm?

It would require port of Fly.exe to Amiga OS. Sources below.

It has been ported to multiple systems, some of them even more limited than Amiga OS.

@kas1e

Have you had time to check minigl possibility? Maybe Jorio could help with that too?

Still majority of OS4 machines are dependant for a minigl. Lots of us hasn't boothed their OS4 machines up for a long time. These kind of games could be good reason to fire up ole Pegasos, AmigaOne, Sam, etc machines.

That would be good for a scene.

@trixie

Software is problem, because there is no needed drives even now for a x5000, so how it is for A1222?

It is virtually impossilbe to sell anything without proper support, excet ofcourse for a hardcore hobbyists. But to get new users, sw support for hw needs to be 100 %.

Thanks, will try this tomorrow. I have bought Caesar from GOG years ago.

Is there any reason this would not work with Sam 440ep Flex?

It is perfectly possible produce PPC hardware for masses, it just requires large enough patch. I think that A1222 what meant to do that, but problem lays elsewhere than hardware.

Bad that there is a now people who would like to produce large amounts Amiga OS4 compatible hardware, but software is a problem.

All sorted now.

Is it possible, that these programs require Enchancer software from AEON? Both started to work after I installed it, or is this just "amiga demon" like a thing?
