Possible alternative to GetVideo?
Just can't stay away

Maybe this would be much better than just GetVideo:

https://symlink.me/projects/weboob/wiki/

It supports daylymotion, youtube and other content sites as well.

And it's written in Python. Well, could be worse, but how many Python apps doth work on OS4? Exactly.

Or if you are using MUI-OWB, then you can just install this script in the Scripts folder:

@all
The js script does work, be sure to put the %l parameter into Quotes => "%l"... see here:

FWIW, I am using the following MIME types:
Quote:
video/*
video/mp4 (extension is set to "mp4" without quotes)
video/webm
video/x-flv

It's possible that the last two types are unnecessary, but I kept them just in case. For each MIME type I have Action set to "External viewer", Viewer set to "MY_PROGRAM_PATH/mplayer" (no quotes!) but I guess that "AppDir:mplayer" should work, and the parameters set to this rather long string:
Quote:
-gui 1 "%l" -vo cgx_wpa::PUBSCREEN=WebBrowser -ao ahi_dev -framedrop -autosync 30 -mc 0 -lavdopts skiploopfilter=all >NIL: *>NIL:

You can change "WebBrowser" to the public screen of your web browser (if any), or simply get rid of the whole "::PUBSCREEN=WebBrowser" part (leave cgx_wpa).

You may also wish to get rid of "-gui 1" if you don't want MUI-MPlayer's GUI.

I strongly suggest using MUI-MPlayer!

MPlayer (and anything using ffmpeg) can play WebM, provided it's less than 1.5 year old or so.

If kas1e updates MPlayer, you should have WebM working.

I can't get youtube-js to work on a SAM 460 (neither getvideo), but both work on my old A1. I probably miss something...

With my small modification to the script you can actually also see the format of the file to play and download:
http://www.algonet.se/~deniil/filer/YouTube.js

Works wonders here with MUI-MPlayer

Note: I used the MIME-type "video/*" for mplayer, this makes it accept all videos, not just mp4. And I put it as "Ask" so that you can choose if you want to play it "using External tool", or download the video. Excellent stuff!

That works brilliantly, thanks

The only thing missing from the script now is to stop it showing formats/sizes that are not actually available for the video...

That sounds like a good idea

Good idea. The dl filename itself should be more explicit, using title, but it's not doable in a href link, it seems (unless HTML5 extended this).

Anyway, you all might be interested in another userscript i found, that works almost out of the box (it was originally written for GreaseMonkey and chrome).

Here is what it looks like:

I'll upload on my owb/scripts/ dir after a few cleanups.

Here it is:
