As you know there is an ongoing bounty to get an updated avcodec.library : AVCodec.library on amigabounty.net(Don't hesitate to push the donate button ) Is there any progress or improvement? It has been quiet since that post from Diego.

@davebraco
Thanks for the reminder - this is a highly important bounty project; I must send another donation when I receive this month's pay.

Hello to all,
I have received the first release of the library from Diego yesterday (of course, some beta have been tested during last months). This version will be tested tomorrow morning by me and if all work fine, this one will be released during next days on AOS4depot.
This is not the final version (with the last source from 2012) but an intermediate one. The final version will allways be planned to be released in June.
The improvements will be more format supported and surely slightly better play speed, error messages when not supported rather than DSI, a debug version for report.
Fell free to point some not supported videos you found on internet after the release of the library soon..

Hello all,
The first preliminary updated version of avcodec.library has been uploaded to os4depot. This should be considered a BETA version, basically because it's based on a GIT snapshot - further details on the Readme file included in the archive.
Next version will be based on the last stable libavcodec as of time of this write.
Please note we've tested the lib under 440s, hence some feedback from other machines is highly welcome.
Thank you all for your donations.

Hmmm there are two separate avcodec uploads on os4depot now, one old and this beta.. How do we proceed? Is this new one stable enough to replace the old one?

Hi Diego, Is MP4/FLV supposed to work at 100% with this library ? I have some MP4/FLV files downloaded from YouTube using KeepVid client as online converter http://keepvid.com/All my files downloaded from that are in "normal quality" But once i try to open them with DvPlayer i got all sound and video trashed ... luckly i didn't got any crash and this is a good step forward compared to the past (before the entire DvPlayer GUI was freezed when i try to open such video files)

@spotUP: Just remove/rename the old lib, i used the following script:
IF Exists LIBS:avcodec.library_51.52
RENAME LIBS:avcodec.library LIBS:avcodec.library_53.1
RENAME LIBS:avcodec.library_51.52 LIBS:avcodec.library
Else
RENAME LIBS:avcodec.library LIBS:avcodec.library_51.52
RENAME LIBS:avcodec.library_53.1 LIBS:avcodec.library
EndIF
avail flush >NIL:
No need to touch the libs:avcodecs folder since the new lib does not uses it. BTW, I wanted to upload the archive name as "avcodec-53.1.lha" since there will be more than one lib (at least three) and i don't want to replace the old libs, but the admin renamed the archive. Also, the readme file through the web got all messed up - who should i contact about these issues?

I don't think these FLV movies are supported by DVP, Sure Cobra can provide more in deep details.
But, just in case let me do a test using that keepvid service.

You shoukd contact Orgin about any OS4Depot issue, as good solution you may also include all your important text files inside the avcodec lha archive, so no corruption possible Quote: But, just in case let me do a test using that keepvid service. Ok thanks Note that 2 video format are possible using KeepVid, FLV and MP4, for each of them you can also choose the quality, I don't think that this could be related to our problem however all options are on the table... just we can't read such format or more probably KeepVid do that "a bit broken" so they result most unreadable under DvPlayer/AVCodec By the way, all that files created on KeepVid are playable under MPlayer

keepvid: It appears you do not have Java installed....
How big are those videos? or get a 10 seconds video from youtube, keepvid it, and send it to me - if you don't mind? :)

Ok i can finally confirm the problem, i've downloaded 2 time the same video file with KeepVid choosing 2 format as output (MP4 and FLV both at 480p) and i can play them without any problem under a recent version of VLC on Windows XP Instead i can't play them with DvPlayer + latest avcodec 53.1 Here to try: FLV video filehttp://www.2shared.com/file/dRfpBOOg/Amnesia_Trailer_FLV_480p.htmlMP4 video filehttp://www.2shared.com/file/rEpV4QWT/Amnesia_Trailer_MP4_480p.html(Click on the blue button to download)

These videos uses the AVC codec, which effectively dvp does not seems to support.

Ah so is there any solution for play them with AvCodec ? Or we need to ask the DvPlayer's author to add a proper FLV/MP4 support ?
