OTT Deluxe possible Tutorial this Thurday eve (5th Nov)

Okay.

I thought we'd give this a go, anyone up for a multiplayer internet game of Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe?

I am thinking of Thursday 30th July between 1930BST (British Summer Time - GMT+1) and 22:00BST

Having said all that, I believe that the old version of 0.4.7 on the amiga side has a multiplayer bug which drops the synchronise. I need someone to test it with me.

If that doesnt' work, we can always play the latest 0.7.2 Version, available for Windows/MacOSX/Linux.

Why is it so hard to port the latest version to OS4 anyway?
There *was* a version already, wasn?t it?

Has something changed in the sources which made it impossible to build or what happened?

I remember giving it a try but it refused due to missing dependencies and i was to lazy to look them up.

If you can gather information on what is needed or where the problems lie in building, maybe someone is able to add the parts (even to the sources itself) to make it build out of the box - like with ScummVM).

Maybe i?ll give it a go myself once more...

to answer your very old question, yes i did give up, too much of a hassle and too few knowledge to ship around the rocks

Anyway, does OpenTTD have a spectator feature of some kind, so one can watch a match without interfering?

Yes it does and if anyone has a very fast internet connection, I would be happy to run a demonstration on the game's basics.

I got your PM, I a fellow amiga user/friend and ANT member may be able to set up an OTTD server.

He is looking into this right now. If that is so and he can set it up for Thursday night I will do an online tutorial. I will include some screenshots here on how to get online and join the game.
