Any chance I could pop by on Friday the 12th and pick up a copy. There's a few other things I plan to buy such as the Indivision and IDE Express at the same time.
Do you accept VISA credit cards? In the past, I've always used PayPal. The ?99.99 is a bit of 'sticker shock'. And, I may want the 9250 gfx card. And, the other day my A1200 mouse died. And...
Hi @Jurassicc Thanks. I logged into amigakit and eventually found the information box at the bottom of a screen. Gak, I guess I'm spoiled for looking for credit card logos!
Will you get any Radeon 9xxx in stock before you ship out AOS4.1? If so I'll add one to my order.
Edit: I see from the thread at aw.net you have them in stock now! Is the 9250 AGP passively cooled or does it need a fan? Hard to make out from the picture.
Thanks for the info! I've had some graphics cards for my peecee (yuck, less and less used now) that were noisy because of the fan. Good to hear the 9250 is passively cooled. Time to upgrade my trusty 7000 I think.
My A1 has a hard drive which is sure squawking though. It starts out quite loud and tapers off as time passes. It did this once before for a couple of days, then quit for months. I wonder what this is telling me, sigh.
As soon as OS4.1 gets here I will be switching to sata drives and put that pata squawker to rest.
Sounds like a loose screw (on the case) to me. Check the screws that keeps the HD in place and re-fit them if needed.

Hi @Moxee As soon as OS4.1 gets here I will be switching to sata drives and put that pata squawker to rest. You gotta estimate of cost for this change over? I'd be curious to know? Under a hundred USD maybe?

I had been planning on switching to sata for a long time so I kept scanning the sale ads for drives. Finally I read that Best Buy was having a half off sale on "selected" sata drives. I drove right into town and got one.
You may not want to wait for a sale so the price you pay will depend on the size of the drive(s) you purchase. There are good buys to be had on the internet.
I ordered my sata controller from AmigaKit last June. It arrived in less than a week.
So, yes I would say you can keep it under $100.00. It will all depend on the drive(s) you get. I spent less than $100.00.
