Regarding VideoClipper, I've done a few tests. As I mentioned on the French Amiga-NG forum, it's essentially our iMovie (retro style), you can quickly assemble video clips with transitions, add background music, subtitles, and so on.

The only feature I find missing (or haven't figured out how to use) is the ability to display a static image for a specific duration or number of frames. (This is useful for a slide show, or for opening and ending screens.) I had to use rnoSlide for that.

Also, perhaps relabel the button that exports our project as a video to something clearer, like "Save Video" or "Export Video".

I have to third the comment on the VideoClipper user interface.
I also downloaded and tried a number of versions out and had a
hard time making heads or tails of how to make it work.

Just like with FFMpegGUI, it seems like there's a *TON* of
ffmeg's powers being offered in all the buttons, sliders, tabs
and all. Clearly a *TON* of work had gone into making both
programs.

But I couldn't see a clear path through the forest. As you
mentioned, @msteed, it felt like if I devoted a lot more time &
effort to figuring out the terminolgy, the sequence of actions
needed, what is where, etc, etc. I could be put to good use.
I just haven't gotten there.

Even more documentation and tutorials could help all this, but I
also wonder if a GUI redesign would most effectively open
VideoClipper to a lot more people. From my experience, people
just do not read (more than 160 chars?)...

Sorry, @ktadd, one of these days (before I retire??) I need to
spend more time with VideoClipper to give it the appreciation
it seems to deserve.

Way back in 2013, I found FFShop quite handy. I managed to put this together with it.

There are 2 saved preset files that can do what you want.
Start ffmpeggui and perform the following steps:

3. Set "input 0" to the picture you want to use.

8. Change video or audio settings as desired, with the exception of video codec.
9. Click "Start" and your video will be created.
10. Now insert the video into the "video Files List" in Video clipper where you would like it to be included.

ffmpeg also has some settings files, in the "graphics" directory, that let you make videos from pictures while applying a zoom effect. For example, zoom to center, zoom to top left, etc.

Not ideal, but it can be done.

It would be easier to make a bunch of simple tools that do simple things, like just join a bunch of videos that are all the same size and formats. (Ie. A bunch of separate videos taken from the same camera.). Is that what users want?

Of course if I do that, then I suspect people would ask for more features, then eventually I end up where the tools are now. That's how ffmpeggui, Videoclipper and Simplesub all started.

I'm thinking of starting a blog on how to create Videos on AmigaOS4 using my tools. Maybe that will help?

Anyway here is a quick test with VideoClipper using only the A1222+:



- Create Intro and Outro screens with Gimp and ImageFX and use RNOSlides to create videos.
- Audio Cut and clean with Rave
- Assembling with VideoClipper
- Create Subtitles with SimpleSub

So if you are aware of a SimpleSub tutorial, please share.
Unfortunately, I didn't achieve to embed the subtitles in the video so I've added the .srt file to the video on Youtube. So please enable subtitles. (Will send a mail to ktadd about this)
