@Mattew Can you also put latest verson of DvPlayer into updater too plz (Hans deal with some bad issues in latest version, so will be good to have it out for ppls too)
Originally, we had an internal version of RadeonHD v4 which worked with the VA Lib.
A lot more development was done then adding GART and many other fixes and the result is the RadeonHD V5 driver. This is on sale now as a retail box item and a digital download in the coming week:
What are the benefits of this v5 for x1000 users? As far as I know the x1000 firmware still can't handle the new x radeons, so no "power" settings either.
Could you elaborate on that a bit, please?
People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction. And all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth. How dare you! – Greta Thunberg
Note that RadeonHD V5 driver is now machine specific.
There is no SAM440 on the list. Does it mean my SAM440&HD7750 has no chance to get UVD support? What about V4, any chance to test on my HW or do anything to get UVD?
@amigakit That's great that you will release the new Radeon HD v5. It is a great step forward for the RadeonHD users out there. A have a few questions if you do not mind.
Is there going to : 1. be a discount for those who bought the previous Radeon drivers or Enhancer 2?
2. be a discount for those who bought DVPlayer or will it cost them more than 80 euros for having video accelerated playback with a video player (RadeonHD v5 + DVPlayer = 85 euros)?
3. be a lower price for the download version?
4. be a discount on V54 for those who will buy this RadeonHD v5, when v54 will be available?
No discounts are possible, sorry - the reality of having a very small user base.
The costs of development have far exceeded the return from sales. That is with many of us working for free for literally thousands of man hours in the last year.
Enhancer Software 2.2 was a substantial development cost and that was given as a free upgrade to existing V2 users.
@amigakit One more question if you don't mind. What do you plan to include in RadeonHD v5 package? Will it have RadeonHD_drv_video Library and VA Library?
My question is, if someone never bought the Enhancer package before, but wants to buy DVPlayer with RadeonHD v5, will he be able to play videos at full speed? Or will he need to buy Enhancer as well?
