Heh, no way i would keep an OS4 betatester away from their work...
Thanks for the infos, maybe a dev will be able to jump in and fill the gaps

IMO that's not Hyperion's business. Elbox should make OS4 drivers for their stuff when OS4 is released.
Hyperions business is to make OS4 work on classics with BPPC, CSPPC and a couple of the most used gfx cards. Gfx cards are the most trouble because not many (any?) of the companies are still active in the Amiga market.
Let's not get too excited about the prospect of the Classic OS4 being released soon. HJF has said on a number of occasions that the Classic version won't be released until after the A1 version, and that they are hoping to get the A1 version out "around the end of this year".
To me that suggests the Classic version won't be seen until next year. As to when, York Air Scissors good as mine.
The ppc beta test classic I been using for years went and died last week. Mobo gave up. It had been repaired historically by WANG in 1995 as there is a service sticker on it. I don't really know if i can be bothered to get a new mobo and resurrect it, or just flog of the ppc, etc.

Guess you have exceeded your 1 to 5 years warranty by now

I can assure you that a lot of hardware works, at least emulated. And emulation/compatibility is quite good so the hardware works as good as it did with OS3.9.
AFAIK MorphOS 68k drivers usually run interpreted, but with OS4 you can use 68k drivers using the JIT if you want.
Petunia helps to make some 68k drivers faster so you'll hardly notice the difference with a PPC driver.
When A1 version is finished the driver support for classics will improve even more.
