When I click on Updater (whether in AMIdock or from actual program icon in window)the window opens and immediately the mouse freezes and I have to perform a case button reboot. This is whether I have started with the old kernel or the new one.
Do others find Updater to be as unstable as I have? I sure hope the promised "hot fix" for update 2 will be delivered by some other means than Updater, or I won't be able to get it! Paul |

I have seen this behaviour also on my machine. (Two lockups)
Then again.. most of the time it just works |

Just wait with tests till Hotfix. Should be soon enough and test things only after. For now, you will have all sorts of random freezes/lockups and crashes. |

OK. I'll try to be patient. ![]() But just before I read this, I tried running Updater from the shell and it worked, after three more failures from clicking the icon. Hopefully that (running from shell) will happen again when the fix is available. Paul |

All the issues I have with Updater, I had with 4.1FE, and 4.1FEUpdate1, and continue with 4.1FEUpdate 2

Actually yes, updater lockup on running from time to time on anything.
Very easy to reproduce its running some amispehere prefs, close it, and then run the updater. @enhancer_devs Is there anyone willing to take a task on fixing updater bugs? I can help with all the serial logs/test/step-by-steps and stuff. |

For me Updater from aeon behave like this (random lockups and freezes). AmiUpdate from other side work better and more stable (on my setup at least)

No current stability problem with either Updater or AmiUpdate. Beta Updater version . My system is the most stable it has ever been. Running with update 1 Kernel . Edited by Spectre660 on 2021/1/7 0:13:51

Ah, yes, coming from Hyperion.. Much better. No, AMIupdate is working fine for me. It's Updater which is acting up for me. Paul |

AmiUpdate runs fine on my SAM44-flex and AOS4.1 Update 6. The Amishere prefs from Enhancer Software Core V1.1 locks the system. The Updater from Enhancer Software Core V1.1 used to lock but now produces a grimreaper on ramlib. This is on a clean system. So I did a clean reinstall of AOS4.1 up to update 6 (minimum requirement for Enhancer software Core V1.1.) AmiSphere Server seems to run fine. Or at least it doesn't lockup my system. I was hoping that upgrading to FE would solve this problem. FE is on its way right now, but apparently it doesn't ![]() |

Downgraded A-Eon Enhancer components except Graphics components to released versions . Still no instability with Updater thus far. Even when fiddling with AmiSphere Prefs. Using Hyperion version of Thumblist.gadget v 53.8 |

To all of you with Updater lockups with Amiga OS 4.1FE update 2 -
do you have Sys:Prefs/GUI/Effects enable or disabled? I tested this and get a total freeze with it disabled. |

@NinjaCyborg
Download the zip file from the Amiupdate website to get the latest version and install it over the existing version you have. I think that there may be missing/old files left over when using OS4.1FE and updating Amiupdate via itself. link here |

@derfs
Updater(A-Eon) not AmiUpdate(Rigo/Hyperion) Edit: Sorry saw what you replied to now. But yeah, the Amiupdate prefs file on the AmigaOS4.1FE Update 1 ISO(X5000 ISO) is broken, just delete Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive/update.prefs or download the archive from AmiUpdate site as derfs said.
