Do we have the possibility to port Doom64EX Plus for AmigaOs4.1?

Under MorphOS the port has already been done thanks to BeWorld. It would be great if someone could do it.

Here we would also have an application that already supports SDL3.

Thanks for the hint, but I still couldn't get it to work. Fiddling around is no longer an option for me and I want to use everything out of the box.

HunoPPC will most likely do this port. I have spoken to him

That's cool, those WADs that I linked too isn't the same experience anyhow, I just thought that maybe it could make the waiting a bit easier

You just need to edit the config-file and choose the first wad and first deh-file. I use the 1.4-wad.

The current version of Doom64EX+ under AOS4 is updated. It works most of the things that are in the SDL3 version.
It uses the current file and full OpneGL is enabled, along with texture combiners.
Instead of FMOD it uses fluidsynth, the SDL3 replacement is SDL2+GL4ES.

Doom64Ex+ uses WAD from the 2020 "remaster" version. Many people believe that the open source version of Doom64EX+ is even better than the original version that was released.
To play under the game port on AOS4 you need the original WAD from this version.

Let's start with a small thing - Doom 64 is NOT another port of the original that other consoles of the time, such as PlayStation or Sega Saturn, got. This is another installment, the existence of which most gamers may not have known or may have heard a handful of information from even a neighborhood buddy equipped with a Nintendo 64 with a cartridge with this title.
The first impression is... electrifying. The soundtrack of the game strikes the ears. Those tuned to the next, filled with the essence of rock music melodies must expect gloomy, atmosphere-filling ambient, which can instead settle those identified with PSX or Saturn's Doom. The locations are covered in gloomy colors, and this time there is no question of more availability of bright rooms. The composed setting creates a slightly horror-like atmosphere, giving a sense of emptiness and loneliness in the fight against our enemies.
The remaster of Doom 64 includes an additional campaign, The Lost Levels with the content of 7 levels (1 of which is hidden). You gain access to them after completing either the main storyline or Hectic levels. The Lost Levels is a chapter exclusive to this remaster and bridges the gap between the old (Doom/Doom II/Final Doom) and new (Doom (2016)/Doom Eternal) installments of the series.
Doom 64 is a title that will delight the younger as well as the older generation of gamers. Those who know the previous installments from cover to cover will be excited by the new challenge.

Thanks for the port and thanks for the story. I’ve finished Doom & Doom II on my 1200 years ago. Will try final Doom and above all try to finish this very interesting Doom64.

I get "Error: - I_InitScreen: Failed to create OpenGL contextLIBGL"

This is Sam Flex with OS4.1FE and Radeon 9250

PS. Updated system, and got a utterly stupid filerequester from AEON update, how do I get rid of it?

Does it require OpenGL ES? Morph OS version does not have a such requirement.

MorphOS does not have Warp3D, I believe it’s called Rave3D on MorphOS, they reinvented 3D API a lot earlier.

Warp3D nova was rebirth of Warp3D on AmigaOS4.x, sadly it does not support older graphics cards. I highly doubt Warp3D Nova will ever be back ported to older graphics cards, but Sam4x0 hardware can be upgraded to support newer graphics cards.

Warp3D is only available using an emulation layer on Warp3D nova, if you have RX driver, for HD driver, you can use mix of different 3D drivers at the same time (A special resource was created allowing two 3D api’s to share the hardware). Older cards before HD and RX, do not support Warp3D nova, and has no support for OpenGL ES. And has no support for the resource.

According to schell output it seems that only Warp3d Nova is supported. Sorry I should have mentioned it in the system requirements.

Project: hardware to run AOS4 on QEMU 10 with GPU passthrough for 35 euros
The machine works. I only use it to emulate QEMU AOS4, and it works very well for my needs.

None of those means that it requires GLES. In MorphOS it works with TinyGL, so it should work with OS4's MiniGL
