@goos. Wow that is fast! Where did you get your adapter? What 9250 do you have?

@Goos Nice. I never thought of using a PCI-X adaptor. You also clearly have a 128-bit Radeon 9250. EDIT: No, you have a 64-bit card (as you said below). Look at the FillRect result again... Which adaptor & graphics card model did you use? Hans

@Hans looks like a Supermicro RSC-RR1UE-AXL adaptor with a PCI-E 8x Extender cable. Following a quick google search, they seem quite expensive :(

@ddni Right, it is a Supermicro RSC RR1UE-AXL RSC-RR1UE-AXL + PCI-E 8x Extender cable and the gfxcard model: ATI Sapphire Radeon 9250 128MB/64bit DDR PCI VGA/TVO/DVI-I

@Goos Thanks for the link, 74e is a bit expensive though. I wonder if there are any less expensive options? Whoa 64bit card? Are you sure? From your results, I would have bet my mortgage that it was a 128bit card.

@Goos Interesting. Can you rerun sysmon with the card in a pci slot. Take a look at the 640x480 Hardware rect fill results. My 64bit card is 27% slower than zzd10h 128bit card. Your 64bit card overcomes this apparent bottleneck and may make a 128bit card less essential. edit. Your card is DDR so 64bit x2 = 128bit?

@Goos Thanks. Now I am confused, your results are a real mix of better and worse than Guillaumes benchmark 128bit 9250. One thing is certain, your new adapter makes ahuge difference and the x1000 pci slots are slowwwwwwww.

@netrot i'm interested in that as well if this adaptor brings better result in our Sam460 with radeon 9250 or more or less is the same directly into PCI66 slot, perhaps our pci66 slot is better than x1000 pci slots.... who knows?

@sofistisoftware looking at the gfxbench2d scores, the SAM460 pci slots are miles better than the X1000 pci slots!

@Goos If you get time, please can you test BSzillis' OPenJK port with your Supermicro RSC-RR1UE-AXL and post performance here.

@ddni i made up my mind getting a radeon 9250 128bit and pci-e/pci riser. my pci is occupied by a 4-port sata card, and my pcie-1x is occupied by a sound card. i will not change this could anyone point me in the correct, so i get the best compatible riser card and the best ati card? thanks:)

@Goos Speed is 100% better than on my peg2. I think it's x2 times faster. So your adapter make sense for sure, and that will be one i will use in my Cyrus too then. What settings btw ? 640x480 and all details at minimum, etc ? Mine one like this when i say its slower than your for about 2 times. What FPS you have with Q3 for example ?:) Can you also test plz LodePaint (opengl based paint app, it have a fps counter at the bottom right side of window). For me on winxp it give 50 fps all the time (and when i painting too), but on peg2 when i painting it reduces to about 20fps. Probably on x1000 with your adapter it can be 50fps always too..
