It seems OWB V3.21 has problems with this site:

Netposti

OWB V3.19 displays the page just fine, the new OWB gives an error:

"Number of redirects hit maximum amount"

Any ideas what's causing this?

Is anyone here still using PEB's bookmark utility with OWB? I'm getting error messages which won't let it run here, and haven't heard back from PEB yet.

Paul

Yes, i do and it works great

Only thing is it will lock up my system in certain cases due to some restraints inside Hollywood
PEB explained the reasons it to me back then, but i forgot already :-/
The only thing i still know is, it has to be fixed inside Hollywood, PEB can't do anything about it

What errors do you get btw?

I sent this to PEB again by private mail. I must have mis-sent the original to his normal email account.

-----------------------------------------------------------
In latest OWB320, I can't get your address book working. As
soon as I try to set any prefs, I get:

???? File: Main.hws (current line: 70 - In function:
???? ReadLine)

in a console window. On other occassions, once this prefs
error has occurred, when I try to run OWB AddressBook, it
says something about:

??? Cannot read beyond end of file.

Is that enough to tell you what's going on?
-------------------------------------------------------------

Does that sound like what you were getting, Raziel? My note said OWB 3.20, but it's doing the same thing with 3.21 also. This is with a freshly downloaded and extracted address book file.

Eek, i know this errors

There were quite some changes within the latest updates of AdressBook and iirc the last one needed a complete install, due to changes in the file structure of prefs and personal links file.

It has nothing to do with OWB's version, i'm afraid.

I assume you have downloaded and extracted the AB file only and copied it over to your install?
That is what gave me those errors.

Unfortunately you have to install the whole package of AB (do a back up of your links file or complete installation) and try again, the errors should be gone now. You will lose your personal prefs and links (as it will be overwritten with the default ones) but with a little tweaking of AB prefs (i.e. number of links displayed and such) you can recopy your links file and don't loose anything.

Ok, thanks for the info. DO we need to do something (like reopen the bug item)?

AW, OWB V3.21 seems to work very well otherwise - many thanks to Joerg for this new version!

No, the problem is verry recently reported again, by elwood (as a new one).

At first, yes. But what I'm reporting now has been with a fresh full "install" of the entire directory from PEB. The first attempt at changing the prefs was to simply have the quick links box not show. When I try to save the prefs after changing that, I get the errors.

Just for the sake of testing, here is my "ABPrefs" file.
I still think that some characters sneaked into your Prefs file.

Compare it with yours, it *has* to be the very same structure (with differences in the numbers, of course)

--snip--
LinkFont="Bitstream Vera Sans.font"
LinkFontSize=16
GroupFont="DejaVu Serif.font"
GroupFontSize=16
StartQuickLinks=0
AutoCloseQuickLinks=1
XPos=0
YPos=90
DimX=255
DimY=473
ShowDate=0
ShowTime=1
ShowSeconds=1
AMPM=0
LeaveOpen=1
LookUp=0
History=0
HintSeconds=1
HideURL=1
Links=76
--snip--

*NO* newline at the end.

It maybe another of the prefs files which is corrupted, but we'll see about that

One more bug:

Download from sourceforge drop the connections from time to time. For example you try to download 5mb file, but it's stops just on some stage and file are unfinished (so, i need to "resume" that file by ibrowse's download manager).

And another minor bug:
After I submit a post to a forum here at Amigans.net, OWB returns to the forum messages with my message at the top of the window. The OWB window scrollbar is stuck at that current position. If I drag the scrollbar or click above/below the scrollbar slider it pops back to the same position. If I move the scrollbar with the middle mouse scroll button, it returns to functioning normally.

Not sure if this has been looked at or explained in the past but I've decided to bring it up...

Simply put... in all the revisions of OWB (including the latest) are number of downloads at the same time restricted to 5? And then, you can't use the browser at all, whether its selecting another file from the same page or navigating the web until at least 1 of the files has completed...

The only way around this is to run another copy of OWB and get another 5 files OR 4 files and continue to surf LOL

Can anyone shine some light on this?

Slayer decides to wonder off and view his config file, he didn't think to check that... but even if you can set your max download files at one time why would it freeze all other operations...

I am used to downloading around 10 to 12 files at once with a average of 50-80k per sec and surf etc...

thanks for any help or consideration!

I can confirm this as well.

I finally got around to doing a cut and paste with your ABPrefs file. When I brought up prefs and tried to change the window location, this is the warning I got: (now with OWB3.22)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hollywood Player

Cannot read beyond end of file
File: Main.hws (current lineL 69 - In funtion: ReadLine)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

At least with your prefs, the quick links don't come up, so when I click away the error message, I don't have the quick links window blocking my browswer window.

(OK, I just opened SimpleMail to send a copy of this off to PEB, and the program is locked after the error in the AddressBook execution.)

Next suggestion? Thanks

Paul
