Hi, Is there a few to stop OS4 from starting the network when booting up? But I don't want to delete any network settings in the prefs. Coder

@Antique My A1SE is very unstable with the network enabled. I noticed that if I boot up and shutdown the network (netshutdown in the shell) and go in to the prefs and have it enabled I can use it long enough to copy data to my PC for backup. If I don't do this and start a browser it crashes in a matter of minutes. The network is my only way to make backups of my data. So this way I save one step. Coder

@Dirk-B I looked before in the startup-sequence but could not find it. Just looked again and I spotted it. The AddNetInterface line is what I mean. Thanks! Coder

@Coder I have also an SE and had problems with the network. What i did was commenting out all the usb-stuff in the kickstart/kicklayout. You can find the usb-modules at the bottom of the kicklayout text-file. Now my network starts up at boot with no problems.

@Dirk-B
I had a very good result this afternoon. Browsing, chattting and playing music without crashes. Normally I never get to stay that long.
Happy man here.

Adding PCI card or buying a Sam440 is maybe the best solution her.

@thread Can someone please help me, I seem to be doing something wrong, I have a fully functional, stable SE, with working usb, nothing "commented out". What modifications do you suggest I make in order to fit in with all the negative remarks being made?

@Dirk-B Well, there's no fun in that! I want to be negative, just like the others.

Using PS2 Mouse/Keyboard input is stable; using USB Mouse/Keyboard input is much less stable. Can I interpret your comment to mean that reporting problems with the hope of helpful feedback is negative and keeping your mouth shut is positive?
