PiStorm and 3D Hardware

Hi!

The PiStorm 3D Project (Crowdfunded) shows first results.

An example program using the current version of the PiStorm 3D Library draws a rotating colored triangle into an Intuition Screen now.

The reason why all takes so long is that only the 3D Chip of the Pi3 is publicly documented, for the Chip of the Pi4 all information has to get taken from Mesa3D Driver Source Code and similar sources. No real documentation exists. At least not available for Amiga-related people.

But now as the most tricky stuff ("how to get something displayed, how to get the shader stuff running") is done I expect progress comes much faster.

Next step will be finding out how to texture.

In meantime the triangles are not only colored, but fully textured. So next step done (of course there is still a lot to be done).

There is still some stuff to do though. A lot of stuff actually ... but as you can see progress is now faster after the principial issues sort of are cleared up. Many of them anyways.

somehow i feel at any corners of the "amiga scene" that when you party People and hold them as HOLY, they are nice to you and bath in this social "all eyes on me". BUT i try since begin of the Pistorm to talk about issues and there is always a Discord Mod jumping out any dark corner to whiteknight the product.

I mean there must be more with the same issues but nobdy say anthing or when then only a person that i never see again in chat.

WTF? is going on, are the product sales now the only wroth the users for ? why not listing to problems of the users for a all better product. In the Amiga Scene it seems for me that people know about the problems and try to hide them or devs. are cornerd by obssesed people that give them honey everyday, while reality is in a other dimension.

Okay some exsamples you want ? Amikit 13 asking for the pistorm version, will take some time.... but what about licenses running out in that time ? so spreading the release after time and time now spreading the other releases again. OHHH a bad karma talk but hey its reality and money. Answer : buy a new license - NO HELL i will NOT !

Pistorm the holy Pistorm Emu68 ! Nobody shall ever bring any say anything against the holy grail ! We all know 1.0.7 is brown and in a toilet swiming. 1.1.1alpha is in real 60%Performance 40% stable or you dont use your amiga longer then 4hours.

1.0.4 was in my eyes the most stable Version and whatever he did after it was drunk or he is at end of his skills to make any stable version again.

But why ?? when im at end at my skills i reach out for other people and try to keep the project clean, stable and running. Instead we want 100 new features PPC and all while the old is not even stable. Like i know there is a 1.1.1Alpha2 for Patrons or payers. Yeah that MONEY thing again, just to say why the alpha2 do not go public since it is mounths out there ? i guess it is more in the toilet bowl as the Version before.

Yes sorry that i hurt some Discord Mods and whiteknights fans that send me dead threads now.... BUT i ask all that questions allready in discord and get no answers, when i want to talk about problems i get "its only you, everything working perfect". That is NO ANSWER dudes if you work in sale, there is just 1 customer that have issues that you have to take his word, find out whats wrong.

Today you get the Victim Card, it is my fault that i buy the product in the first place ! Now you have problems ? cant you solve themself you know not much about amigas or? etc.

And i know that the owner of the Discords are reading this brown soup and say nothing to it or even approve it.

Then my Question why you make a Discord in the first place ? only to get all the fame and social respect ? A social plattfrom for a Hardware Software is a communication between Users and Devs. To say the truth about the Products and help to make them better.


Yes now you can hate me all.... i said something bad against emu68 and amikit. You know what ? i remember times amikit gave keys to pirates that they check for bugs, help coding and solve problems. yeah remember that time jan ? ok enough this will be deletet so or so, as hate speech or whatever.

I get your frustration, especially when you feel that no one is listening. I hear you.

Have you tried to communicate these issues you experience with the product owners? I mean, the pistorm team has https://github.com/michalsc/Emu68/issues where issues can be shared.

From my understanding and the experience I have by the people running these products, is that they really care about the users and their experience. Maybe something lost in communication when you shared the problems you have.
