Enhancer Software v2.0 Released

A-EON Technology Ltd is pleased to confirm immediate download available of the Enhancer Software Release 2.

This is a major version update representing three years of hard work from the Amiga Developer Team. A digital download edition can be purchased from AMIStore App Store.

For all amigaos4 lovers, there is one of important news after the os4update2 release: a new version of Enhancer Software from AEON.

This time is version 2.0 and it 2.0 because of the gazillion of new tools, updates, and new features. From my own perspective there is why you need to buy/install it:

1). Updated Warp3DNova library. And updated a lot. It faster now, it supports heavier shaders, it deals with a gazillion of issues, and now probably 70% of all shadertoy shaders works (the remaining 30% of nonworking is few not implemented features).

2). Updated and much improved and bug fixed ogles2.library: Daniel does a very quality job as always, and the library now faster, has fewer bugs, and has new features (some of which, together with new warp3dnova, is must have for some upcoming stuff to be released)

3). Updated RadeonRX and RadeonHD drivers. That has no needs to explain, that probably clear for what is need it. But to note, now you also have PowerTool in your prefs, by which you can manage power control of your Radeon RX card: so if you want maximum performance just set it too high from the beginning. If you want less performance, but less energy to be used, then choose safe mode.

4). New VA.library, meaning you can play some modern video formats over GPU (currently only RadeonRX supported). Together with the latest Emotion video player from amiboing guys you have a pretty decent performance (see at end of post link to the video about, where I show how it looks like on x5k when you run 2 big videos at the same time)

5). Updated and improved version of the MultiViewer and MultiEdit: powerful utilities from Andy Broad.

6). And a lot of other stuff like updated amipdf, tunenet, etc,etc, new tools and utilitities.

So I bought HDR's fantastic graphics drivers....
How do we get updates to just those WITHOUT the MattyOS
Clock, Dock & Schlock pack???

Do not know, you probabaly need to buy full version, and install only what you need manually by hands leaving out all those components you not need (yeah, you may ask for what you need to buy whole thing, but think about it as you buy only what you need, just it cost more to support devs).

Why would I want support a ridiculous effort to waste
man-years of dev time to overwrite AmigaOS with lesser
components?

Selling the components separately would have made more
$$$ for the developers of quality improvements and
compliments to AmigaOS.

What a disappointing mess.

Imho you of course understand, that the time and money spend on this from everyone are much more than Mattew asks, and there is no profit at all but only labor of love?

To those who already have the RadeonHD 3 driver package.
Ignore the updates in the "System" tab of Updater.

Instead go to the "My purchases" tab.
Check the box in front of "Enhancer Software Release 2" and press download. Then install the package again.

It is a bit confusing because this package doesn't show up as updated. But this is the way to install Enhancer 2.0 with all it's new tools and libraries.

Taking money to pay HDR for his work on the graphics systems? Great!

But Matty wants us to give him our $$$ to pay for overwriting parts
of AmigaOS. Why should users be financing Matty making a land
grab in the shadow of Hyperion's incompetence?

It's for the love of AmigaOS that Matty's trashing it shouldn't be
supported.

Same here happened here, but leave the Grimreaper window in the background and continue installation.

I guess Multiviewer depends on some component that hasn't been installed yet..

I ran through the individual elements that were updated, then I ran the Enhancer installer again. Still got the error, clicked through it to run the install...

My userstartup was failing on reboot. It was looking for RapaGui which it couldn't find. Hmm, weird, I don't usually get that error. So I booted into my BU partition, commented it out, and rebooted...

and now I have a non-booting partiton. Gets to the splash screen and no further.

I also commented out an assign to PPAint, and WB now loads.

You are a really great guy and I always very much enjoy meeting you every year at Amiwest. I wish the circumstances from this pandemic made meetings and events possible again. I share your passion for this platform and like you I want it to succeed.

I fully respect your viewpoint but I want to continue to strive to give users the best experience they can have. We have different ideas on how to achieve this.

As you maybe guessed, the revenue that is generated from Enhancer Software sales doesn’t meet the costs of software development. My personal time and resources are helping to contribute to the development.

However in the face of seemingly endless litigation and events such as “bankruptcies” over the last few years, it is preferable to work on an independent project that is not effected by these disruptive events and instead achieves positive results. Something that can grow and mature and ultimately be safeguarded for this community for the longer term.

Any required components at installation for Multiviewer are accessed from the installation drawer.(from Ram in my test)
Tested with a clean install of AmigaOS.1FE update 2 with no Enhancer components except video drivers installed .
Sam460ex. No Guru . This with the clean install on USB Thumb drive and hard drive disabled .

Continuing to get a Guru Meditation every time Multiviewer is accessed.
