@hotrod MagicSN is porting the retroarch frontend, maybe you can ask him if a stella core os4 port can be done, but he's already got a lot on his plate.
That's nice and all but I'd still like a stand-alone version. I have it ported for Wii, it's available for MOS so I thought that maybe it would be quick to port it.
No hurry though and I believe that Steffen got enough to do as it is.
To me it just seems like one of those emulators that should've been ported long ago. A bit supriced that it hasn't happened yet.
Narc. The avatar to start with. It's like some joke to them.
Also, talk about something that is OT, didn't ask about RetroArch.
Also talk about that because of narc-reasons.
And offcourse they always have more Amiga-systems than the regular Amiga-user. Because then they win and everyone will automatically believe anything they say is how the think. More is better to them.
It's fascinating how a simple offer of help can be interpreted in so many different ways... especially when one doesn't know the motivations or the facts. My suggestion was just to offer a potential solution for Stella.
If it doesn't has to be a standalone, I have in meantime a RetroArch core for OS4 which implements Stella2014 (Stella2023 Core does not work yet, but I am trying). Still has the flaw of a crash on exit, but before I look at that, I try if I cannot make Stella2023 Core link.
I managed to fix the Crash on exit of stella2014 Core (should also work with NeoGeoCD Core which also had this Problem) but this will require recompile of all os4 cores. Will look to do this on weekend.
Firstly, I would like to mention that someone reads the forum posts and tries to take action, even when there are no comments. Today was my last day of holiday (it was rainy after a long trip), so I decided to do something with Stella under AOS4. This post does not interfere with the @TheMagicSN RetroArch project. Please use his version and support the @TheMagicSN project in recognition of his hard work. However, if anyone cannot use RetroArch for various reasons, I can provide this version. It is an older version of Stella SDL1 3.9.3 which works on QEMU with PEG2 and SM502. It should work fine on a real Amiga
Greetings!
PS My favourite game on the Atari 2600 is River Raid.
Yeay!!!!!!! It's been missing for so long, thank you so much!
I'd like to say that I think that there is absolutely room for both standalone and retroarch. On my verious units I have both. Sometimes it's convenient to use retroarch but sometimes you just want to use one emulator directly. I've paid to support retroarch since I think that it's absolutely great. Anyhow this emulator has been really missing for so long, you go looking and kinda expects it to be there because it's available on everything and it's missing (not on MOS) so it's awsome to finally have a version for AOS as well.
Recently a lot seems to be moving on Enulators on AmigaOS, no matter if my or your or someone Elses project.
Congrats on the port. I always have warm memories about the 2600. Asides from a few Games on spectrum it was my first real touch to computer/console games.
