Hi Everyone,
Time to report on the new version ScummVm!
First, the Gui scaling bug is still there (Read my earlier post to see what it is). Also, when you scale the GUI above 100% you loose the ScummVm logo at the top but in my opinion that doesn't really matter.
Second, Space Quest 6 takes a while to start but once it does, it runs perfectly. I could not find a bug in it.
Third, Kings's Quest 7 runs perfectly now.
Fourth, Police Quest 1, the mouse pointer has been fixed and works perfectly now.
Fifth, Might and Magic 1, runs very fast but I found a bug when you enter the tavern and select (C) listen for rumors. Once you select that you get a requester saying - "Assertion of condition "_strings.contain(name)" failed in file "opt/code/ScummVm/engines/mm/mm1/globals.cpp line 149." It then drops Scummvm into the debug console.
Sixth, Ultima 6 Game I'd not supported.
Seventh, Eye of the Beholder 1 and Eye of the Beholder 2 appear to be working. I will test them further as we move along but they seem great!
Eigth, Beavis and Butt-Head in virtual stupidity appears to work. The start menu is strange with the Scummvm interface but I would not consider it a bug. I will test further.
Okay this is getting better, more games supported and a few GUI issues that are no big deal, it is moving along nicely. Thank you Maijestro for your good work and looking forward to the next version.

Hi Everyone,
Another new version! Here are my finding from testing the new version.
First, the Gui Scale bug is back. When the GUI is in Fullscreen and you adjust the Scale to anything other than 100% I get that error "Surface::transBlitFrom: BytesperPixel must be 1, 2, 4." it then quits.
Second, you still have to start it, quit it, and then start it again to add any games. So no change there.
Third, Thanks Maijestro, Might and Magic the Xeen Engine I tested Might and Magic 4 and it works great. Might and Magic 1 does not work yet, it says Game ID is not supported.
Fourth, Space Quest 6, Kings Quest VII do not start and give the Game ID not supported sci32 support not compiled in error.
Fifth, Police Quest runs pretty good except the mouse pointer is just a black box, but the game runs otherwise just fine.
Overall it is very snappy and I notice it is not using a lot of CPU usage compared to older versions which is great.
Keep up the good work and looking forward to more testing! Thanks Maijestro for your hard work on this.

Hi Everyone.
I downloaded the lastest version of the program, but I cannot get it to see any games at all. The previous one was seeing the Sierra games, but not I am getting "ScummVM could not find any game in the specified directory!"
Solved: I see you have to start it once, quit it, and then start it again and it loads the games.
First, the Sierra games are still working. The shader I use with OpenGL works fine. I know that not all the shaders are ported over. I use the anti-aliasing/advanced-aa.glslp.
Second, Testing Ultima 8, works perfectly over here. In fact, a bug where your character would disappear has been corrected in one of my saved games. Great work!
Third, tested more games, Beneath a Steel Sky, Return To Zork, Goblins, Elvira, Lucas Art Games including Indiana Jones and Monkey Island. (I will test more as we move along).
Fourth, When loading a game you get the game plus another enrty that says Unknown Level 9 game or version (v3). Not sure what that is.
Fifth, Mass Adding Games works perfectly from what I can tell. I added over 30 games using it, it scanned the directories and added the games, no problems there.
Sixth, I was getting the GUI Scale error when you choose over 100% but once I quit and restarted the programm, that error was gone and I am able to Scale the GUI to 150% - Larger which is how I like it.
This is getting better! Great work Maijestro. The only major bug I can see is the starting the program and then having to restart it to get it working properly at first. The program itself is very responsive and the load time is great!
On a side note, I just wanted to say that I appreciate any developer we have and any work they have done for our platform. Having said that, the port Raziel did was very buggy for me and often crashed on exit. I appreciated Raziel work and it had some nice features, but it was unstable for me.
Cannot wait until the next version to test! Please include Might and Magic Plugin LOL!

Hi Everyone!
First, I think testing ScummVm is a lot of fun! I love this emulator, one of my favorites.
Okay let's get started with the new version. I have an AmigaOne 500 with Radeon Rx 550 completely updated and I have the latest versions of all the libraries that ScummVm requires per the included readme. Also, the Vulkan 3d graphics works on my AmigaOne.
First the good news, the load time is much better. It is really quick now. Also, all the Sierra games are running perfectly in this version as well.
Second, the bad. Okay, in global settings on the GUI tab, if you choose anything other than 100% - Medium for GUI scale and apply it, then go back into the global settings and choose a working shader for example or Fullscreen mode, I get a requester stating "Surface: transBlitFrom: bytesPerPixel must be 1, 2, 4! and then when you hit okay ScummVm quits.
Third, I tried to test Ultima 8 since that engine has been ported over and when I hit start I get "Error running game: Could not find suitable engine plugin".
Fourth, the Vulkan graphics does not work at all for me. When I choose it and hit apply, I get a requester "Assertion of condition dest x>=0 && dest X < w" failed in file graphics/Surface.cpp", line 259." I love the "Sorry" Button in the requester, a nice touch lol.
A request, the Might and Magic Plugin would be great! I want to play that series after I finish Ultima 8.

Okay, testing ScummVm 20216.1.1. I have an updated AmigaOne 500 with Radeon Rx 550.
Okay, when you choose some shaders, you get an error "Failed to apply some of the graphic options changes: the shader could not be changed". This appears to be the same no matter what OpenGL you are using or Software (SDL2D). I just realized this is happening with ScummVM 2.8.0 Dec 25 2023. So maybe this is something I am doing LOL.
I tested the sierra games. They are working well. I am using the OpenGL graphics mode with OpenGL mit Shaders (ODLES2).
Saving and loading works well. No problems with the interface, no grim reapers over here.
I am looking forward to the rest of the engines being updated and ported over since I am currently playing Ultima 8 with ScummVM.

Hi Everyone,
Testing Odyssey 3.0. These are in no particular order. I am using an completely updated AmigaOne 500 with Radeon Rx 550. Okay, first the network activity in the bottom left is off. I only have 8 open connections and it is showing 16 and they are not lighting up as it loads data. Second,some sites bring the entire computer down, eBay is one of them. The loading speed for most sites does not improve when JavaScript is disabled. Third, it is not caching the fonts upon loading. Fourth, when changing the prefs and saving the program you get the Grim Reaper and when you ignore DSI, it closes the program. Google Search appears to work. That is not the case on a lot of our browsers.
I appreciate all the work everyone is doing for this. We need an updated browser. I am wondering if AI can help us with this?
Looking forward to the next update.

Hi Everyone.
Installed this on my AmigaOne 500 with Radeon RX 550 all the latest drivers from A-EON, latest Uboot, and latest AmigaOS 4.1.
This Vulkan implementation is great. The Demos work great and the Donut demo (thanks Maijestro) is awesome. I did have it locks up once but other than that, it is great. Great work everyone. Looking forward to games using this.

Hi Everyone,
This is great that you are doing this. The current ScummVm on os4depot is buggy. I believe it is version 2.9.0. I get a grim reaper when I quit it and it complains about some function in one of the objects then crashes on exit no matter what game I play.
ScummVm 2.8.0 works great on Os4. No problem. Must games run perfectly. Ultima 8 is a bit buggy but the Ultima games usually are.
Speaking of Ultima. If you want to port something else, the exult engine would be great. The version we have is very old, it work fine, but the new version would be great. Exult is used to play Ultima 7 which I feel is the best Ultima game.
No matter what you port, thank you. Much appreciated here.

Final Part of This Journey!
I put the new Bios Chip with the latest Uboot from Acube into my AmigaOne 500/Sam 460ex. Works great. I did find out that to have the A-eon AmigaOne Keyboard work right with the new Uboot you have to have the USB in uboot set to ohci not ehci for that keyboard to work.
Well, the upgrade is complete and I cannot believe it. To watch HD movies, play 3d games, emulators perform better, etc on this super old AmigaOne 500 is amazing. I am not even sure why I bought an A1222+ (but I do not regret buying it lol). Not sure how long this computer is going to last since it is aproaching 15 years of continuous use but it is the best Amiga I have ever owned and I love that fact that I can still upgrade it after all these years (Reminds me of my Amiga 3000 my second best Amiga I ever owned).
My recommondations would be this for anyone else wanting to upgrade: Enhancer Package V2.2 for A-Eon, along with the Warp Nova Bridge software and the Radeon HD V5 and of the cards I have tested which include Radeon HD 7770, Radeon R7 240, and the Radeon RX 550, I recommend the Radeon RX 550. It seems to give the best performance and is very stable. Only downside, you have to put it into High Power Mode using the A-eon Power Prefs program manually. It doesn't automatically go into High Power for some games. I heard this will be fixed in the next update of the Radeon RX driver.

Sure, I would be happy to help where I can. Not all emulators work great or I haven't figured them out yet, but the OpenGL did help with some of them, and the Compositing got faster with the updated Radeon Card.

Okay, here is my journey with this AmigaOne 500.
I had bought a Radeon Rx 550 card for my A1222+ which I have not assembled yet. And thanks to that great chart (thanks sailor for the tip), I see that is supports everything.
For fun, I put it in my AmigaOne 500 without updating the uboot. No output from uboot, but I read about this, however once I put the Radeon RX driver into kickstart, it booted into OS 4.1 no problem.
I did buy the Radeon HD V5 driver to have and the Warp 3d Nova Bridge as well and I do have Enhancer V2.2 installed. Anyways, I looked up how to probably install Warp 3D, minigl, opengl, etc and the post from kasel1 was invaluable. I had a lot of old Warp 3d stuff on here and I had to get rid of Warpz since I had a proper 3d card now.
After I did all that, it is amazing to see this old AmigaOne 500 play movies in high definition with no problem, gl screenblankers work beautifully, I have even tried some gl games and they work great. The best part, I love emulators, and they are running better with the help of opengl support and ScummVm looks great now!
This is one tough motherboard is all I can say (I have had it running non stop for over 13 years and still has the original uboot). I did order a new ROM chip with the latest uboot from Acube so I hear that will solve the RX Uboot problem. But to be honest, don't need output from Uboot once you have uboot setup.
I want to thank everyone that has done the great work on these drivers. Way to go guys! And of course A-Eon and Hans.
The only complaint is we as a community need to simplify this process a little. I can see how a new person to the AmigaOne seen would be a bit confused by all this.

Hi Everyone,
I have a question about the graphics cards for the Sam 460 boards. So my really old setup is an AmigaOne 500/Sam 460ex with a 250 watt micro ATX power supply HIS Radeon 5450 Graphics card. This setup has worked for years no problems. Uboot 2010.06.05a. Yes, I have never updated the Uboot in this machine. Latest Amiga OS 4.1 Update 3. I also have Enhancer Sofware Release 2 and Enhancer Software Plus Edition installed. I have Radeon RX V2.12, Radeon HD 3.7 and Warp3DNova.library. I do not have Warp3D Nova bridge.library or Radeon HD V5.0. I was waiting on the new Enhancer Package to come out and will get that when it does.
Here is my question. Is the ASUS Radeon R7 240 Low Profile PCI-E 3.0 Video Card R7240-2GD3-L work in my AmigaOne 500/Sam 460ex (I know it is listed as a working card on HDLabs) but do I have the right Radeon drivers and do I need to update the UBOOT? Also, I want to verify it will give me Warp3d abilities. Also, is a 250 watt power supply enough for this card (I know the Sam 460ex does not draw a lot of power)?
I assume the card would work fine with the Sam 460LE motherboard I own since I bought it a year ago and has the latest Uboot and all that.
Any input would be helpful.

Okay, might be another bug but probably just because this program is so old and has not been updated. When copying a large amount of files from one USB device to another using diskmaster (V2.7) (both USB devices are massstorage devices), once it gets about 1/3 of the files copied, it stops copying and just sits there. I have not seen this bug until this Update. Performed the same action with Directory Opus 4 and no problems. Everything copied perfectly.
It would be great if someone would updated Diskmaster or compile it with the latest gcc. It hasn't been touched since 2007.
Also, I am playing Ultima 7 using Exult. It works pretty good for playing the game even though it was ported to OS 4 in 2004 and it runs fine with the latest Update to OS 4.1. It would be nice if someone would port the new version over. Ultima 7 really is a great game.

I am using this driver to Hypex. Radeon HD 3.7 since I have an old Radeon card in this AmigaOne 500. That must be the problem. Like I said earlier, I am waiting for this thing to die to upgrade and I really don't want to change the video card. I bought a new Radeon card for the A1222+ I have and haven't assembled the computer yet. Well, it is manageable, actually, I put back the new update to the bootkeyboard kickstart module and it has been behaving better, less hanging on reboot.

Hi Everyone!
Okay, some more to report. First, my machine still hangs on boot sometimes like Hypex describes. It definitely is the USB and this needs to be fixed. I tried putting the old keyboard bootkeyboard.usbfd from Update 2, but that did not fix the problem. I still had to replace the bootmouse.usbfd back to Update 2 or my A-Eon Logitech Boing mouse does not work.
On the update from programs running side, AmigaAmp plugin BlueShift 1.1 and Widespectrum 1.3.2 freeze up after a while of music playing. What is funny is that the 68k version of Widespectrum runs fine indefinitely and so do the other 68k plugins. I like to let Christmas music play on my AmigaOne 500/Sam 460 24 hours a day so I was able to test those plugins for extended times.
On a side note, I have bought the A1222+ and another Sam 460 board, neither of them are assembled since I am waiting for this original AmigaOne500/Sam 460 to die. I have had it on 24 hours a day for almost 13 years. I only replace power supply from time to time and the hard drives once. Even the original cards are working fine. I am afraid to update the original Uboot that I might brick it so I haven't done that. Maybe it will never die! LOL.
I will be back if I discover any other programs not working under Update 3.

Hi Everyone,
So, I figured this would be a good thread to post everyone's experience and any bugs with Update 3.
First, the bugs. I have an AmigaOne 500 with the original Uboot and a Radeon 5450. (Yes my setup is super old lol.) Okay, my mouse stopped working right. I have the A-EON AmigaOne Boing Mouse. To fix this, I put back the old bootmouse.usbfd and that fixed it. I also have the AmigaOne A-Eon Keyboard as well, and after a while, My AmigaOne would not boot into OS 4.1, it would just hang at the splash screen after loading kickstart, but I noticed the caps lock and num lock were not working on my keyboard. I then went back to the old bootkeyboard.usbfd and that fixed that problem as well. This could be related to the fact I have not updated the UBOOT on this machine since I bought it over 10 years ago. But I thought I would report it anyways.
One last bug, on the screen blanker, I am unable to change the screen resolution for boingball.blanker v53.14 but the blanker itself works fine.
My experience with the update is great. My AmigaOne 500 is noticeably faster now including the internet speed. The updates to the graphics library, exec, and roadshow made a noticeable improvement for sure. It also fixed the bug in ScummVm (latest version) which would crash on loading if I quit it and loaded it again. That bug is gone for me.
Overall, I am very pleased with it. Thanks to Hyperion and everyone involved.
