How can i test from my program if some file is an OS3 or an OS4 executable?

The eays way about i think : open file, read some first bytes. If "ELF" - then it's not 68k exe. If 00000003 - then amiga hunk (68k exe).

there is a tool on os4depot which does just that and its name is list68k

I just wanted to be sure of the type of files i was compiling with the OS4.1 SDK gcc
The errors i get thrown look all very puzzling to me, so i want to be sure of every step i take.
