Mine looks like it will be coming in tomorrow. Hopefully it will work on the sam-flex. I'll sign up for the beta testing tonight.

Would the beta testers need to deliver weekly feedbacks on the basis of some frequent standard tests or do they just play with the card and report bugs/crashes/errors on a "Whoa! This was unexpected" basis?

I checked the card according to the manual from acube that came with the sam. And the card can use both 2,2v and 5v so should be ok. But there is nothing output at all. Like it won't start with the card at all. The SE has os4.0 but it should atleast give output still? I will try some more when i get home today from work.

I'd just expect them to test the driver regularly and report back to me what works, and what doesn't.

So no output from either graphics card in the SAM? Not even a flashing cursor? If you have another computer and a serial cable, you could check if anything is output there.

If UBoot isn't even starting up, then there is some kind of hardware problem. Inadequate power supply maybe. You may also wish to try the card in a standard PC, just in case the card is faulty.

No life at all for the sam,but i think i remember someone saying that a second gfx card didn't work in the sam atm. Not sure about it thouh!

After swapping around the pci ports of the SE i got the uboot, started loading until i get an picasso96 error, not gound the hw. I suppose this is normal.
But the SE has only 4.0 atm.

Got the card in today, and no luck in my Sam-Flex 800MHz.

-Alone in the 66MHz or 33MHz PCI slot:
System would boot, and by the HDD activity I assume it hit OS4. No video throughout the boot process.

-Paired with the 9250:
System would not boot at all. No HDD activity, no video.

I have confirmed that the card works on a regular PC.

Did you set the 'video section' in UBoot prompt? Two settings: AGP or PCI.

-Paired with the 9250:
I have no idea what that means? It's not recommended to have both AGP& PCI cards installed.

There is no 3D driver at all yet. One thing at a time; let's get the 2D driver working first, and then a 3D driver can be made. 3D is going to take some time, which is why I'm hoping that most people can have a dual graphics card setup.

I dont have any AGP cards, both are PCI. Maybe I'm missing something here.

This is my first time with a OS4.x machine, I have always been a classic amiga user and I missed the boat on the Pegs and A1s years ago, so forgive my ignorance. So I havent set any video options in the bios as I assume both cards are PCI.

I expected it to at least show UBoot. You may wish to contact ACube and ask them about this. As far as the PCI bus is concerned there shouldn't be any difference between a graphics card and a sound card, or anything else.

Do you have a second machine and a serial cable? Maybe UBoot outputs something that could help find out why.

Which graphics card is showing the UBoot screen? If it's the RadeonHD card, you need to change the target card in the UBoot settings. Picasso96 will use whatever card the UBoot screen shows on, and will fail if you don't have a driver. In the UBoot menu you can choose the target card. On my A1-XE, selecting AGP results in the PCI Radeon HD 2400 to be the target card, and PCI switches it to the AGP card. I think that having multiple PCI-to-PCI bridges is confusing it.

It looks like beta testing has started already without the driver.

When I have everything set up, I'm going to try to keep discussions related to testing centralised on my website. This includes issues such as UBoot settings, etc. People who have applied to be a beta tester may wish to sign up to the forums there in preparation.

Registered. Thanks.

@Snuffy
As far as my UBoot settings go, there is no AGP option. I wouldnt think there would be as there are no AGP slots or onboard video on the Flex.

Try changing the UBoot graphics card setting anyway. If UBoot outputs to the 9200 instead of the HD2400 then Picasso96 will load the atiradeon.chip driver.

I have UBoot 1.1.1 from March 05 and i don't see a PCI setting. The only thing i could do is turn off (uncheck) the "Enable AGP" checkmark...

Would that be the way to go?

My UBoot menu has "Video options" right up the top (that's UBoot itself, not the UBoot tool in Workbench). Disabling AGP won't help.
