Before we begin, I am sure that work on 4.2, Warp3D, Gallium 3D and SMP etc continues as before. Please tell if I am wrong? If I am not wrong, then it seems to have gone awfully quiet on the progress of these. Any thoughts on why?

This is the latest news about:
http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/?p=863 BTW, Nothing personal but I will never understand why many people still like to open thread like this, questions will never be replied in a forum .. as usual all is: When it's done
Instead I suggest to enjoy the current 4.1 and do somethings usefull for it like reporting bugs, coding etc .. time will better spent

thanks Samo. You answered your own question, this is a forum for discussion, not simply a news posting site.

Yes, but if you look back in history there has never been any response in forums regarding any of the OS4 updates, all news were given only when Hyperion decided post them on their official channels ..

That is true, it does not stop us discussing things though.

Everyday Web, Game and video user. Waiting for hardware acceleration to really allow my x1000 to become my main computer.

Quake series. Freespace 2, Heretic 2, Shogo are the ones which I try to get running. The addition of a 9250 to my X1000 helped a little. A future RTCW port would be great to see too.

If you use AmiUpdate, then you know there is constant progress on OS4. There are also dramatic milestones accomplished, such as support for the on-board X1000 audio. It is best for Hyperion to "do", rather than "say". I've always like their policy of working rather than hyping. Same as you, I'm looking forward to improved hardware support, mostly 3D support for additional video cards since I've not yet used 3D on my X1000.

@ddni If they only talk about stuff when it's almost done (my preference by far), then some people complain about silence... ... but when they do talk about stuff which is a long way from finished, people want to know how far they've got & estimates for when it will be done, and then complain when things (inevitably) take longer than hoped. So I don't think they can win either way.

@ddni I think you find that some people are posting more on the Facebook groups lately.
