Help with Network interface error 10193
Just popping in

After having to delete my old Internet connection (network settings) and creating a new one, I have managed to regain access to Internet with a newly created Internet interface, that I named "Home." "Home" was also the name of the old interface that I had deleted.

Internet is working oK, but every time I boot up my SAM460ex, running AOS4.1 update 5, I'm getting the following message:

[error] Interface "Home.deleted" configuration failed with station address = 00:50:C2:80:D5:17, Bad address, Unknown SANA-II wire error 10193).

Could someone please tell me how to correct this and get rid of this message? It doesn't seem to be affecting my access to Internet, but I'm afraid it could be something wrong.

Can you post the contents of your DEVS:NetInterfaces/ drawer?
Use Shell/CLI:
list DEVS:NetInterfaces/

Maybe you have some old .info file that AddNetInterfaces tries to load without success.

@jabirulo. This is what it shows:
4. Amuga_OS4:> list DEVS:NetInterfaces/
Directory "DEVS:NetInterfaces" on Saturday 03-Nov-12
Home 178 ----rwed Tuesday 16:51:44
Home.deleted 178----rwed Tuesday 16:48:29
HOME.INFO 5092 ----rw-d Tuesday 16:44:47
3 files- 5K bytes -15 blocks used

Any suggestions?

So I found the Home.info file for the deleted interface, deleted it and got rid OF error message.

Thanks jibarulo

Clarification: I ALREADY GOT RID OF THE ERROR MESSAGE. There were duplicate files.

No you can't just rename the files every file in the directory will be loaded, you should delete the file for real or move it out of the directory.

Just to add, this is what the "Storage" drawer is for. You can drag files from Devs:xxx/ into the corresponding drawer in SYS:Storage rather than deleting them.

Also note that the AddNetinterfaces line loads all files in the directory except .info files, so whether or not a netinterface file has an .info file or not is irrelevant to whether it will get loaded.

He's probably using workbench instead of dopus or filer etc. so deleting the icon deleted the file too.

I have also played with multiple interface files and definitions. I have modified my network startup to ignore more files, and rename them *.off and they will not be used. You can do similar for dosdrivers. For me, it's easier than opening several windows and dragging to storage.

AddNetInterface QUIET DEVS:NetInterfaces/~(#?.info|#?.off)
