I don?t have video playback either with DVPlayer (regged or special OS4 version) or with MPlayer (latest cvs version)
Judging from previous posts of yours you have a Radeon9800, which is not (yet) supported to use overlay. DVPlayer (in it?s latest incarnation) has overlay turned on by default. Go into Icon Information and set NOOVERLAY (without the "()")
That should do it...
No idea on the MPlayer part, with the last release v6b3 it works, though.
edit: small polishing...

Heh, thanks a lot Raziel, that did it indeed
...aww, so many nice people around

Yeah and i was so happy to try out Overlay, well, tough luck
btw: Is there a way to turn off Overlay in MPlayer? Becasue i?m pretty sure that?s the problem there, too!

Both DvPlayer and MPlayer work correctly here with overlay.
Which gfx board do you use? Don?t tell me a Radeon9800...

Have you tried SDL video mode in MPlayer? According to the news item this is the only software mode now (which I assume means not overlay)
Yup, tried all of them, both displays a black picture and btw. yes i do use the G3 version, for i am on a G3

Hello, I'm glad to say that I could solve my floppy and usb problems. In fact, it was one only problem. After playing still a while with the floppy connections, it started to work, and at the same time I got back my USB.
A big thank you to everybody who wanted to help me!
I allso removed the interrupt tooltype from my radeon (radeon7500 gfx card) and now Mplayer and DVPlayer play without crashes, thnx! My machine did boot however with the tooltype in place.
Just for precision sake, I think that the problem is with graphical data rendering/moving in general, i.e. it's not about windows, but about video drivers.

Problem: PPaint opens a requester saying 'Attention: Memory Save Mode'
Solution: Edit your Startup-Sequence, the setpatch line should look like this: C:SetPatch ADDCHIPRAM 2 QUIET
Problem: Working with PPaint in low resolutions (320x240/320x256) and few colors (anything less than 256) doesn't work, as the BG color is always set wrong, it's purple when it should be black.
Solution: None
Problem: When working with low resolutions in PPaint and zoom mode, the pixel you are drawing with moves around a little depending on where you point at the screen, it's not in the center of the marker as it should be. Solution: It's a little bit better if you set mouse speed to 1:1, but the active area of the pointer is still offseted to the right.
Solution: None
Just a few notes about these PP issues: * ADDCHIPRAM works, but also "steals" the amount of memory specified; * not just the background, but also other colors are affected; * colors are wrong only when displayed, as the actual data is correct (try saving the picture); * also before the Final Update PP had problems with less than 8-bit screens, although they looked different (as if there was an additional plane of dirty memory - haven't tried whether this still happens). * also before the Final Update the pointer centering was not correct in some screen modes.

Problem: Not a bug, but the file requesters in ibrowse have black background, can that be changed? it looks so 1986 dos when they are black.
The black background has always been there meaning that the requester is in "save mode". If the reported issue is not about save requesters, then here I don't have that problem.

Problem: I have set destination to ram: in the unarc icon, but when i double click any archive it doesn't fetch the tooltype. however when i double click the unarc icon it fetches the tooltype.
Solution: set the whole path of the default tool (f.ex. SYS:Utilities/UnArc).
2. UnArc, when destination is ram:, this works when clicking on unarc itself. But clicking on an downloaded archive in the ramdisk, unarc opens, but the destination is empty.
Configure your tooltypes in Prefs/DefIcons to fix your problem.
(I also like using the "AUTO" tooltype.)
did both - but same result here. unarc only works in that way when started directly. started by clickin on a archive does just open unarc. without a destination path and without uarchiving the files... i miss that one

I also have a problem with AHI! Only the unit 0 and the generic can be changed. The other units do not work. And maybe some programs crash or do not work because of this?
Can't even get the early boot screen using a PS/2 mouse (actually it's a USB mouse used through a PS/2 KVM with a PS/2 adapter). Holding down scroll lock (help key) works though.
