SoundED suggestion thread

SoundED 0.4-wip

Some features I am working on now include:
- Resampling (change sampling frequency with linear interpolation and/or change sample bit depth of sound)

Some other features that I will probably start working on soon include:
- Support for more application.library features (registers itself as an application, last accessed files list, ...)
- Mix function
- Echo effect

Apart from that I am open to suggestions on new features/improvements.

Also I noticed that there is a demo version for another program also called "SoundEd" on aminet. I'd rather not have people thinking that they are related in some way (especially since I might consider making an OS3.x version in the future) so if anyone can come up with a better name that isn't already used by another program then that would be nice.

I whould like to be able to change the speed of the music without changing the frequency (change tempo).

Samplemanager has it as an unimplemented menu item...

Thanks

AmiSoundEd would be a good name.

How about "SimpleEd"?

BTW, Thanks for adding MP3 input/output support!

I like the "Sonic Studio" name.

@ssolie

That is another possibility.

AmiSoundEd is nice. It could be bundled with the OS
with a name like that .

I was thinking about this very name, great.

A few ideas...

A scale above/below the sample graph (possibly in the middle when the sample is stereo) and the cursor has to move much more smoothly during playback for pinpointing the area you want to edit.

multiple buffers.

undo/redo, zero and add blank space options. copy/cut/paste into a new buffer/window

Excerpt from AmiSoundED v0.5 changelog (not released yet):
Quote:

- Fixed bug in AHI playback code that caused stuttering sound especially when
used with small buffers (< 1s)
- Reduced playback buffers from 1s to 100ms (progress marker is now updated
10 times per second instead of only once per second)
