Software News : JIT enabled E-UAE bounty - UPDATE
Posted by Troels on 2011/2/18 23:50:00 (1893 reads)
Software News

The bounty for a JIT enabled version of E-UAE for AmigaOS4.1. has been assigned to Álmos Rajnai. Álmos is undoubtedly one of the best qualified persons for the job we could think of, as he's the author of (Petunia) the JIT 68K emulator in AmigaOS4.

Our current version of E-UAE on AmigaOS4.1 (and also MorphOS) supports only interpretive emulation and is quite slow compared to f.ex. winUAE.
Gaining JIT 68K code emulation (like Petunia) will speed things up. Especially AmigaOS4.1 users with slower machines should gain a lot from a JIT version of E-UAE. The JIT version will automatically become open source and other PPC OS will hopefully be able to benefit from the work as well.

As usual donations can be made via the Amigabounty.net website: JIT enabled E-UAE bounty

Software News

After a long period of closed testing the DigiBooster 3 music tracker enters the public beta stage. The main goal of public betatesting is to check program core stability and performance on different operating systems and hardware configurations.

Demo versions of DigiBooster 3 for AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS are available for download on the official DigiBooster website. Please note that this is not a release candidate. Many important features still wait to be implemented. It is highly recommended to read a "readme" file after installation.

Previous releases of PortablE were aimed at existing AmigaE users, and those familiar with AmigaOS programming. But after more than a year of development, PortablE is much easier for beginners to pick-up & play with:
