@flash Dunno, but i didn't see anything pointing that os4.2 will skip support for any HW which we supported now, imho make no sense while it all powerpc still.
I have AmiDVD from Enhancer Software 2.2 and it does not work. No GUI, no error messages, no crash. As far as I can see, none of the Enhancer classes/gadgets were deleted or overwritten by Update 3, so in theory everything required by this version of AmiDVD is still intact.
Perhaps AmiDVD checks some AmigaOS libraries for version info.

Hmm, maybe a little. I seem to recall I was previously getting around 40-50 MB/s, now fast.com reports 80 MB/s. Still a fraction of what a PC on my network can achieve. It's a pity I don't run Linux anymore, I can't do a like-for-like comparison on the same hardware.
The update was hassle-free using AmiUpdate. Thanks to all involved!
@redfox Quite possibly, AmiDVD contains a check for the Kickstart version, or the version of some other system component(s). Licensing reasons I guess.
Just updated my X5000/40. Everything seems to work. It replaced the Enhancer Time preferences, which is fine. The Enhancer Time was buggy. With the new USB stack it recognized my wireless headphones, but I'm pretty sure it needs AHI drivers. It also recognized my ESM 9110 Wireless Game Pad. I could make it do stuff in Amiga Input, but not in any games just yet. So, got some more learning to do!
Okay, 3D stuff seems a lot more zippy and responsive now. Doom3 Demo clocked in around 21 fps. I think before it was hovering around 16-17 fps. That's a pretty big improvement. It's almost playable now. Too bad I don't really like the game.
