YAM add group to address book

Can't remember how i added groups to the addressbook, then populated them.
Anybody

pressing the add group button in the toolbar?

I can add a group,
But then iI appears without iIs characteristic rectangular icon.
If i add a person just below,iT won't be in the group folder.
Solved editing addressbook manually for one added folder.
Might be a development version (2.10)problem

If you create an entry, and it ends up outside the new group, just drag it and drop it on the group name, then it moves to be inside the group.

drag & drop does not work in the address book window (2.10dev?)
As long as there is no rectangualar folder icon i can' t add a person to that folder

In a folder with such icon i can: you have to position the mouse on an exisitng "person" in the folder & add a new person.

When i create a new folder, it won't have that rectangular icon (2.10 dev)

Checked with older versions of YAM inluding 2.8p1 2.9

The problem is present in 2.9p1 too

No drag & drop in addressbook window seems to be the real problem
Will file a ticket to the yam developers

No need for a bug report, because everything is working as expected. I just verified this myself.

Better check your NList Drag&Drop settings (MUI prefs -> NListviews -> Options tab). If Drag&Drop is set to "at the border" then you must drag the entry outside the list object to let the D&D process really begin.

If you take a look at YAM's Changelog file you will notice that the address book has not been touched since February 2014. That is almost two years ago by now. So it is very unlikely that there is a bug which has been introduced recently. An "external" cause like the NList settings is by far more probable.

i also just checked here (2.10ev version) and everything is working fine.
greating groups and adding people via drag'n'drop. no problem.

thanks, frolm where can i set these MUI prefs ((MUI prefs -> NListviews -> Options tab).? From YAM? (don't seem to be the case )
I se a "lists" item in the "User Interface setting" for YAM but no corresponding options tab

To be noted too drag& drop works ok in other YAM windows, just not in Addressbook

In the YAM main menus select Settings->MUI... to open the MUI settings for YAM. Near the bottom left of the MUI window click the "More" button to see external settings like NListviews. Click on NListviews in the left lister and then the Options tab near the upper right side of the MUI window. You can then change the desired NListviews setting for YAM.

If you want to make that Listviews setting global (applies to all your MUI programs) then open SYS:MUI/MUI and change the settings there.

Yhe settings for NListviews are the same for Yam as for general MUI settings: "Immediate".

This is also the settings for 2.9 p1 2.8p1 & even earlier versions
2.8 p1 2.7 (checked those) & probably in earlier versions 2.6 2.5 2.4 (present on my HD) too
Only 2.9p1 & 2.10dev have the described behaviour below & have it in.the addressbook window only. eg i can drag & dorp YAM folders in the main window's folder. ( And in other MUI applications drga & drop works fine)

- when you leftclick in an addressline the line highlights, but no white border appeaars
-when you try todrag it the line does not move but the lines you pass over become highlighted too
-when you release the LMB all these lines remain selected, but no drop


Checked this (same YAM installs) from my OS4.1Upd6 partition: same results

My system is a SAM 460ex running OS4.1FE
