This weekend I tried ciagent version 0.1, it did help a few program to work better,

Hippo Player almost worked but I did not get any sound.

UFO enemy unknown started but just opened a back screen.

Simon the sorcerer started but the graphic where not displayable.

I did get one demo working.

I?m where exited about this program, any one else have any success whits this new minimal CIA A/B chip emulator?

CIA A and B is hardware timers used on classic Amiga computers, basically almost all classic programs uses CIA for timing.

The ?CIA.resource? is a tiny API that enables a programmer to ask for a free timer interrupts, but the interface is minimal and the developers often most write directly to address space owned by the CIA CHIP to configure the timer.

Just an idea..

But would it be possible to have different agents for the different amiga chip in order to run old programs and videogames without the use of an emulator like uae as we already have an amiga one with amiga os 4.0 ?..

As program or videogames that use the RTG almost run on the amiga os 4.0, we only need agent for custom chip like aga paula and denise in order to run games and programs directly on our workbench..

Could it be possible ?...

Yes.. Provided you have all the chipset emulation need for the game, games that can be started from workbench should be able to run, if they do not contain any bugs.

I do not think WHDload games will work.

Dreaming here, an E-UAE library would be...well, a dream.

I think it might be possible if one patched the loadseg() function in ExecSG to forward execution of 68k program, I have not looked inn to this, but I think it is possible.

I don?t really mind starting E-UAE when like to play old game, but E-UAE is so slow compared whit OS4 JIT execution, and this way really like to see some great improvements in the chipset emulators for OS4.

I have few feature requests for E-UAE,

1. Proper screen integration whit the host OS.
2. support for OS4 block devices as hard-drives in E-UAE
3. 680x0 to PPC JIT emulation in E-UAE

Have you tried the E-UAE mailinglist?
Rich is there very frequently and tries to answer every question

In case i repeat myself, the EUAE mailinglist is a great source of information
regarding this subjects

Nope. E-UAE cannot use Petunia on OS4.0. Petunia would need to provide an API
where it could compile and launch code in E-UAE's virtual address space and
provide some means of giving control back to E-UAE periodically (not just
running a function until it hits an RTS).
