SUBWAY USB on AmigaOS4.0 (A1200T-PPC)

Hello all,

Bit of help here please, I/we have a problem with the above.

At the ANT UG meeting this Sunday gone, (10th May) We tried to get the Subway USB interface working on a ANT member's A1200T/PPC which has OS4.0 installed on it.

Now, we think that the hardware is okay, but not sure about the actual software. We installed the Subway software from supplied CD, but it didn't work. (although I am not sure it was setup, if it needs to be setup/configured at all)

Does OS4, detect and run the Subway automatically? or do we have to do something else?

Help if you can!
(Before you ask, the supplied manual isn't very clear)

I'm not sure OS 4.x supports Subway USB controller, in fact I'm almost sure that there is only support for Poseidon stack...

Yeah Subway is working only wiht Poseidon SW! and if Posedion is workig on OS4 , suwbay will work!

No we are saying that if you want to use Subway, either nag the manufacturer for an OS4 native driver, either buy/install/use 68k Poseidon instead of OS4's USB stack...

And even in the last case the poseidon driver might not work if it's using 68k DMA...

Just copy usbstart in a directory, and launch it.

Hi Mickey, AFAIK Poseidon Subway driver doesn't use DMA so it should work. Perhaps there's some problem with Poseidon's input.device clashing with OS4 one?

Remember to install fat95 and TD64 patch so it works better.

Take a look at Gilloo's USB stack, it looks cool

i just ordered the subway so i will watch this thread closely...

Browsed the web for answers and i think i found some:

What's still got me wondering is that do I need to comment out any USB entries in Kicklayout? Or edit Startup-sequence?

OK i tried it out and it went like this:

1. commented out all USB-entries in Kicklayout
2. removed USBCtrl START (or similar) in Startup-sequence
3. installed Poseidon v4.2 package
4. rebooted...

and Voila! My Subway is working nicely under OS4.0
