Got a problem with the install CD or script. As follows
Manage to get Machine to install OS4 via boot floppy and CD disk. Enter necessary details, enter for BVision, IDEFix etc then let it run through install. at end it fails on Language files. Doesn't allow me to click on Next at end i have to cancel. When I do an immediate re-boot, and it boots complaining about the c:68k-version files missing. However even if I edit thier entry in startup to just version, that works. But, when I power the A1200T off and on again, it doesn't even get that far as it fails on a RAMLIB requester at the very start, re-boot option does nothing
I selected: English British ? for language and English British ? for keyboard.
Edit: At end of install I get Configuring your new system installation. This will take only a few moments. Copying Language Preferences..... No Language Preferences selected, you should do that after booting your system. Copying default preferences. Error Copying standard preferences files.
HELP! PLEASE! BEFORE I GO MAD! I HAVE BEEN AT THIS FOR AT LEAST 2 MONTHS NOW!!

No cause is lost if there is but one fool left to fight for it.
I think that someone should do a new iso with the february update included inside and should re-check the code because you are not the only one with problems on classic machines.. others guys on amigaworld.net have problems..
It sure looks like it But alas, that suggestion is gonna get me no where, I need to get this install, complete, finished and the A1200T out of my sight before I have a heart attack, I am sooo peeved off with it right now. If it was mine, i'd give it a good damn thrashing! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Not sure about this but doesn't the Bvision need to be already installed under os 3.## before you can install OS4 on a separate partition. Maybe to take advantage of earlier libs.I remember having problems with Ramlib errors when I used to just upgrade from 3.1 to 3.5 to 3.9
The problem, my friend, is that os4 for classic has some problem and with some hardware configuration it won't start and there is no way to make it starts if it won't..
It is a question of luck.. for some strange reason on my system it only starts if i have the idefix installed, without that my system hangs up with a black screen ( that is related to the february update.. )
And note that i tried 3 differents mainboard ( A1200 ), changed the DVD-Rom, Changed HardDrive with a new one,?tried 2 differents graphic board ( Voodoo 3 3000 and Voodoo 3 2000 )..
Maybe install initially without the Bvision and connect to a telly instead.
Use a split cable, no buffered interface.
I seem to recall that last suggestion worked for someone elsewhere.
Vaguely remember something about not formatting properly. DOS7 or SFS, otherwise the lack of longname support will block the final bit of installation.
One thing I do on occassion (but not recently) is copy the complete contents to a drive... if it copies with no error etc then how can your cd be faulty...
why not just copy the complete system files over and tweak the generic install to your needs...
notice these lines? yours will be C:Bootloader only the COMMANDLINE "AllowBasepageAccess" is only added for the FastATA IDE interface I run and perhaps another hardware concern in the install procedure...
C:BootLoader COMMANDLINE "AllowBasepageAccess"
C:FastATA.driver QUIET
also consider ; out the following line untill you're ready to consider or implement network options/cards
good luck, OS4 runs so smooth and stable on this 604e I truely wonder why AmigaOnes have so much trouble lol
