It would make it easier if it was my sourcecode.
As it isn't, I need to try and figure out what is going on to make it into a plugin.

Ah, i know what you mean, reading other peoples sourcecode
can be a PITA sometimes

Plus RTSP needs to be in TuneNet, and HTTP streaming won't work with plugins currently.

Uhh, that would make another feature request...

Ahem, Curty, your plugin is great ..

Well, I noticed one missing plugin and I feel it will be extremely hard to port it: the Symphony plugin.

For those who remember, Symphony was (and still is) an excellente music software, creating fabulous musics on Amiga 68k.

If you still have a 68k Amiga (or emulation), go on Aminet and type Symphony, you will need the SymphDemo 3.3 and some Symphony module (also on Aminet). I remember this program to be very processor hungry.

Has anyone ever reported that if you try to add the AdPlug plugin then MIDI stops working?

The AdPlug plugin plays MIDI files here.

We really need some extended prefs now.
As we have so many plugins, a lot of plugins supports the same formats...

If both the Midi plugin and AdPlug plugin plays midi, then I'd like to decide which one to use without removing one of them.

I haven't tested all the other plugins yet, but so far AdPlay and MIDI are the only ones I've found so far that have a conflict. If they're both working on your system I wonder what's different on mine that they don't work together. Anyone else have AdPlay and MIDI working or not working together?

TuneNet tries each installed plugin in turn until it finds one that says it supports the file in question. Since there is no prority system each plugin is probably tried in what order they appear on disk, which is dependent on filesystem implementation and what order they were written, ...

In case more than one plugin claims to support the same file the first one tried will be the one used.

Another example of this type of conflict is the TN_GME and TN_MSXPlug plugins (formerly known as TN_KSS). I've had to disable the TN_GME plugin here because otherwise TuneNet will try to use it to play .kss files instead of my plugin and at least here this doesn't work (the GME plugin doesn't produce any sound).

If AdPlay is supposed to play .mid files it doesn't work on my system. I'll just leave it disabled and continue using the MIDI plugin. Thanks for the info on how the plugins work. It's always good to have an understanding of what's going on. Are there any other plugin conflicts I should be aware of and what plugins should be disabled?

Also one of the plugins is causing TuneNet to crash upon exit. Unfortunately I didn't note which one I had recently reinstalled when that behaviour started occuring. As soon as I track the misbehaving plugin down again I start a new thread about it.

yes, disable the AHX plugin, and use the HVL plugin instead, as it does a MUCH better job playing ahx tunes!
