I agree, nice work - as usual.

I do have one wish, though: Would it be possible to make simple links (picture links, for example) to all those YouTube videos instead of imbedding the full videos directly into the page? As it is, this month I couldn't even load the page in Odyssey on my X1000 with 2GB. I had to f*ing start a W* pc ...

Best regards,

Niels

I'm still amazed that even though I check in almost daily I still miss stuff after reading your monthly roundup

Hi guys,

Thanks for the kind words and for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

@nbache

That is a very good point! It should be user friendly to people using AmigaOS 4 to browse. I'll see what I can do. A thumbnail people can click on to be taken over to YouTube should suffice. Cheers!

Or maybe you could just take a screen shot of the first frame and use that as the image link - that should look almost like now without the memory usage.

Best regards,

Niels

Great compilation for the month of November. It's crazy how many new games we've gotten lately.

What I also think is really great is that so many people are creating videos about things and posting them on YouTube. It's always exciting to be able to watch videos from other users.

I am curious. How do you make these reports? You keep some log somwhere during the month, or you write them during the last few days?

To get the main screenshot use the following url. The alphanumeric between the vi/ and /maxresdefault.jpg is the video ID. Maybe you could use it as an image url in the editor you use on your site.
https://img.youtube.com/vi/fofmVZxNbAQ/maxresdefault.jpg

If you want to use smaller images, try the following url, with the same logic
https://img.youtube.com/vi/fofmVZxNbAQ/0.jpg

There are websites providing this kind of info, like the following

Thanks for the info, Walkero! Excellent!

When I started writing these roundups, I could jump in and start writing the same day or the day before. Due to the increased activity in the community since then, I have to spend much more time on it, so now I write small pieces here and there, and then connect them together later on.

I also gather information throughout the month. For this I have a list of YouTube-channels I visit regularly and subscribe to, and I go methodically through a selection of forums and websites for news. First go-to-source is OS4Depot, as most of the new releases are there. I also sneak around on Discord to see if there is something noteworthy to pick up there, and sometimes it pays off, like when Skateman let me use some excellent photos of the Mirari packages for OS4 devs.

That said, most of the work is done the day I publish the roundup, as I then have to put everything together, and it involves a lot of editing and writing.

I'm very happy I started with the project. It is good to be able to contribute to the platform and the community.

@nbache

Great suggestion - that will for sure be a good and effective solution. I will see what I do for the next one. Cheers!

@all

Thanks so much folks, much appreciated! I'm very happy you enjoy the roundups!
