As you know I am currently updating the Q2 port of Hyperion, especially with Mission CDs and Mods. Some of those were supported by the WarpOS version (which did no longer run on OS4), the various OS4 compiles of Q2 did not support Mods/Addons/Mission CDs. Some of the mods have been updated to more recent versions of the source code (for example ChaosDM which now is in latest source code version 1.14. I even managed to fix a bug the original authors never found (which made it run in hosting server only with modified Q2 versions).
Here is the list of currently supported Mods/Addons/MissionCDs of the currently in progress version:
SinglePlayer
Ground Zero Mission CD The Reckoning Mission CD Zaero "inofficial" Mission CD
Reine Multiplayer Mods
Action Quake 2 Annihilation Quake 2 Assault Quake 2 Basketball Blastchamber Catch the Chicken ChaosDM Devastation Quake 2 (my personal favorit in Q2 Multiplayer ^^) Faith/FaithDM/FaithTag Fireteam Freeze Tag Headhunters Holy Quake 2 Jailbreak King of the Server (KOTS) Quake Racing Team Fortress X (TFX) Terror Quake 2 ThreeWave CTF Titanic Total War UrbanCTF/UrbanDM WarMod Weapons Foundry (WF) Wyrm
BTW: Generations Q2 can be added to the list now (it is a Mod where you can deathmatch as Doomguy, Q1guy, Q2guy or WolfGuy against each other, and also have Q2 levels which look like Q1 etc, and also the weapons looking like it.
I think back then the WarpOS version only worked with a very old version and also only with "floating camera" (due to the same menu code string code messup probably ). The OS 4 version of the Mod now fully works!
Awesome. I was trying to get the Quake2 from OS4Depot to work. I could play the first level and then it would shut down the server with some writeedict error and kick me into the console. I could exit out but that was it. That same error would happen if I tried to save the game too.
So yeah I'm looking forward to this upcoming port.
Yeah I did not want to make this a quick port, but something good (that's why it took so long).
BTW yesterday I still got the popular Q2 Addon Gloom (not to be confused with the Amiga game of the same name) running (that is a really big multiplayer mod - total conversion - over 200 MB sized).
Ground Zero Mission CD The Reckoning Mission CD Zaero "inoffizielle" Mission CD
Single/Multiplayer Mods
Sog
Pure Multiplayer Mods
Action Quake 2 Annihilation Quake 2 Assault Quake 2 Basketball Blastchamber Catch the Chicken ChaosDM Devastation Quake 2 (my personal favorit in Multiplayer Q2) Domination Quake 2 Faith/FaithDM/FaithTag Fireteam Freeze Tag Generations Gloom (nothing todo with the Amiga game of same name) Headhunters Holy Quake 2 Jailbreak King of the Server (KOTS) LTK (Action Quake with Bots) Napalm2 Nighthunters Pig2k ProCTF ProRocket Quake and Conquer Quake Racing Sniper StVitus Team Fortress X (TFX) Terror Quake 2 ThreeWave CTF Titanic TopRung Total War UrbanCTF/UrbanDM WarMod Weapons Foundry (WF) Wyrm
Well, now I am "through" with the big Q2 Addon porting action.
The final list of ported Addons will be:
SinglePlayer
Ground Zero Mission CD The Reckoning Mission CD Zaero "inoffizielle" Mission CD
Single/Multiplayer Mods
Sog
pure Multiplayer Mods (note I marked the "very well known multiplayer Mods" in the list with "!")

The whole mods will be split over 6 Addon Packs, altogether around 800 MB of data (even without xatrix, rogue, ctf and zaero in the counting).
Funnily - I doubt there is even a this complete collection of Q2 Mods on PC. I had to look around a lot with wayback machine and all to get all the needed datafiles.
I also put in for some mods PC and WarpOS versions.
Not ported are:
Ace and 3zbe - these bots have some severe Endian issues and I was not feeling like it, other bots run, like jabot Dday, expert, gunslinger, no-items-quake: I think most likely they have problems with Q2 3.21. There is a more recent version of dday source-code, but this more recent version bases on remastered Q2 not classic Q2. Keys - crashed, not enough interest of mine to fix it Lithium - crashed and saves settings in wrong directory, not enough interest of mine to fix it No-Items-Quake - gleiches Problem wie bei dday und expert Qfl - crashed, again not enough interest Rip2 - cannot find some files, despite them being there, might be a 3.21 incompatibility
I think most "important" mods are ported though.
Then there is a range of Mods where legality of copyright might be doubtful (matrix, 007, Star Wars, Star Trek, Superheroes and Transformers Q2). I did not port those.
When starting a new game in The Reckoning addon, the game crashes right after the intro videos with Guru Meditation error (of type DSI). I installed normally via the addon installer. Any ideas what went wrong? I have a Sam460 with Radeon RX550.

What happens if you abort the movie early? And if i understand right the base game and ground zero addon work fine?
Is this 68k or os4 version?
And started from workbench or shell (if shell how much stack?)
You might send me a filelist if your xatrix directory to tirionareonwe@gmail.com if nothing else helps (List xatrix opt a >ram:list.txt or something like that).
Correct, base game and the ground zero addon run fine. It's OS4 version. If I skip the videos or not doesn't make a difference, it always crashed. It also doesn't matter wether I launch from shell with "Quake2 +set game xatrix" or via xatrix.Mod shortcut.
But I now found the solution: I looked into the crashlog generated by GrimReaper and it says that crash occured in module ref_soft.so. I already configured base game for GL4ES and wasn't aware that the add ons still use software rendering. So I changed to GL4ES and it now runs fine. Ground Zero and base game do run in software mode however.
Thanks for the feedback and good you found a solution. Yes every q2 addon has it’s own config.cfg which is where renderer, keyboard controls and all other is set.
I wonder that software renderer did not work on xatrix. I think i tested software renderer for all addons on qemu. Possible though i only tested the software renderer on the main game on real hardware. Maybe it behaved differently there. I guess there is no real os4 hardware (at least not non-classic) without 3d hardware.
@TheMagicSN I couldn't find my original QuakeII PC CD which accompanied the first Hyperion QuakeII release. So wanted to go by the Gog "Quake II (Classic)" for which you also supplied an installer. Only, Gog no-longer has the Classic version on sale (or at least not from my location). Do you know of another place to buy it, or will I have to go the Steam route instead (or empty all my storage boxes to find that darn original CD somewhere :) )?
I think, when you buy Quake 2 you will get both versions. I bought Quake 2 way before the release of Enhanced Edition and now both are assigned to my account.
It’s great project. Maybe opportunity to build Amiga version of the popular go-to software PreMAKE. https://premake.github.io/ With different Amiga configurations. Just a thought.
The non-classic version appearently works too but 1) they deliver in form of a windows exe which you can only depack if you have a pc 2) if i remember right the data you need is in some subdirectory, app/ or something like that cannot remember so when the installer asks you where the gog data is you will have to indicate this directory 3) not sure, i think location of ogg vorbis files might have changed, you might need to copy those manually 4) whole archive is huge, you do not need to transfer all to the amiga, Pak files from rerelease version can be skipped (pak files from classic version needed which are also included, they are in The directory were the installer expects them), as well as anything related to n64 version
Bottom line - you need to work out which directory will be the Data directory it asks for but asides from that it should be fine
