How does the ASMedia ASM1184e PCI express switch mount in the case? Do you just plug in cards and the PCIe cards you install in the extender just kinda hold it all together? It also looks like you need a power connector per slot?

That mining PCIe expander assumes graphics cards in each slot. So yes, a power connection for each x16 slot.

The smaller ones with just x1 slots can do with a single power connection.

you are right, in the screenshot there isn't the CMI8828, I was in the middle to test some other PCIe cards and mixed it.

Anyway, here another screenshot, this time there are:

- Envy24HT
- CMI8828
- SATA 3132 controller
- USB3 controller




To be noted, currently under AOS4.1 there are some issues, for example Ranger 1.59 crashes when opening the PCI Bus tab, and the Envy24HT driver freeze the machine when playing the test sound in AHI Prefs.

I'm using the 16x slots (x4) version.

Are guys telling me I need larger case for my Sam460le? 🙄

Just got my Sam460le 😊.

It's stuck on the screen "Loading done, now lunching kickstart", nothing happens after that.

Do you happen to have a Radeon RX?

The OS4 install CD doesn't have a driver for that. You need enhancer in that case.

if your using a gfx card which isn't supported by the basic RadeonHD driver used in the install CD, you need to replace it with a new one (V3 or V5 depending on your specific graphic card)

With the board you should have received a SD card, you can replace the old RadeonHD driver with the new one and boot directly from the SD card.

everything is fine with the hdaudio driver

I tried to use R7 240 (I could see UBOOT)

I'm trying 7750, now it's stuck on AmigaOS 4.1 logo screen.

How long it takes to boot from SD card?

OK, good to hear.

The latest driver supports the audigy Fx V2 as well. This is the best soundcard supported for now. So I would recommend new sam460le owners to get that one.

booting from the SD card is usually fast.

If you have any other PCI/PCIe device attached, I suggest to remove all and boot only with the radeon 7750.

AmigaOS installed, now time to configure it, update etc. etc.

It's looks like my slim DVD Rom doesn't work under AmigaOS (but I booted and installed AmigaOS using this drive?). When I switch to regular size DVD Rom (same cables) that one will work fine.

You will find that Sam460 is faster than any other os4 based hardware when it comes to the usb-speed copy and the whole booting of OS4.

The only drawbacks can be in the 3D area, where things slower a lot more than we may expect, but if you're not in 3d stuff, then sam460 surely a good one!
