Yes, I think this could help.

This occurs, when "quick transfer" is activated. Please launch "Cygnix:S/Utilities/Quick-Transfer-Off.bat" and it should disappear. This feature will be removed in future versions.

O.K. My mistake. I thought some conflict existed because the AmiCygnix PATH setting was not present if the CMake PATH variable is set before AmiCygnix is started. Sorry.

I've installed now update 1 and I'm working with AmiCygnix for several days without problems yet. So I think there must be something else.

I still have had problems even after having disabled desktopmanager.
The one i can document now:

Amicygnix opens though & using the abiwordDT.bat icon i can open & use abiword, then close it & close Amicygnix


(BTW now that i have Amicygnix set to WBscreen resolution switcing screesns is so much faster. I wonder why i never asked before)

I dont't think so, that it is a SAM460ex thing, I'm working on the same machine without problems. Maybe it collides with something installed on your system.

I tried out the new xdummy

It still get a crash when saving myx11setup this time pointing to lxpanel
It only occurs when asking to open AmiCygnix.

Whn i launch myx11setup i observed the recurring line

I tested Amicygnix with my new Cyrus+ board, and works the desktop and the other programs.

I start Abiword and Gimp from the standalone bat and works without problems.

Very bad news. At the moment I have no idea what's going wrong. I have to see the problem on my computer, but here it works excellent.

The new xdummy binary contains debug informations. Can you send me the crash log? It should contain more informations as the original binary.

xdummy seems to crash while loading the settings, no idea why.

I suggest to make a clear new install of AmiCygnix for testing somewhere else. Before this make a backup of your "s:user-startup" file and remove the AmiCygnix stuff from it (everything between ";BEGIN Cygnix" and ";END Cygnix").

After a reset install the AmiCygnix 1.3 and the AbiWord package on a drive with enough space. Maybe it works.
To switch to your old installation, just replace the user-startup with your old file.


Esetroot crashed while opening the "cacheclearu.resource". I cannot find it on my system. Does anybody know, what it is??

O.K. - "cacheclearu.resource" was a good hint. Found out, that update 1 was not correctly installed on my system. After fixing that, I get the same crashes here.
I have to investigate...

O.K. - found the problem.

The display driver "picasso96clonewbdb" ist buggy under update 1.
So if you have problems, please use the display driver "picasso96clonewb" or one of the other drivers for now.
To change the display driver use 'myX11Setup'.

I am getting from time to time an error when I boot my machine (x5000 running latest OS4FE1upd2), which force me to make a cold boot :

ASSIGN: invalid device name "AmiCygnix"

even though the assign (and execute) is/exists in my user-startup.
anyone experienced this behavior ?

Strange. The assign AmiCygnix uses is "Cygnix:" and not "AmiCygnix:". Did you make some changes in the user-startup by hand?

The entry in the user-startup must be like this:

;BEGIN Cygnix
assign Cygnix: "your path"
execute Cygnix:s/Cygnix-Startup
;END Cygnix

I have this :

Assign AmiCygnix Applis:Programmation/AmiCygnix/
;BEGIN Cygnix
assign Cygnix: "Applis:Programmation/AmiCygnix"
execute Cygnix:s/Cygnix-Startup
;END Cygnix

maybe the first assign is not needed ?? I dont recall modify it manually...
