I *think* AmiDog is too waiting for a "final" release.

No point in porting a buggy pre-release.
LDCHen is doing a mobile port last i heard, so it will
take time, plus the fact, AmiDog would like to add
AmigaInput and Overlay (and Altivec?).

Yeah,1000 days since last FPSE are so much.

I have FPSE with update 4 and I have two games that I could
run,one is Tekken 3 and the other one ISS Pro Evolution 2.
I have tried to run these and the only I see is the Sony logo and the screen of memory card and the likes.

How can I configure FPSE to REALLY RUN AND PLAY Playstation
games on my Amiga One?

A long time ago (near to one year) they sent back my Amiga One I always have questions unsolved like how to make YAM to work,AmigaInput, the real integration of petunia,etc..
And since this date I am not enough qualificated to run
the games I mentioned on this emulator.

Your help is already aprecciated.

The last things I forgot were, the most important, the installation of Debian Linux and how to burn CDs/DVDs
with Frying Pan.

And my next question is about FPSE and Playstation games.
I was seeking for good pages on internet to download and play games
with FPSE,without much luck.
Where can I get Playstation games free and easy?

Note that the comments about Linux and Frying Pan are
intimately united to the FPSE question on this post and the
previous one.

Nice to see people interested on the side of Amiga emulators.

Has it really been that long

LDChen is sadly a bit hard to get in touch with at times. I think his work is far away from where he lives, so he's only home at the weekends, and probably has other things beside FPSE to worry about.

I do get updates from LDChen every now and then though, and always keep the Amiga port up to date (as my betatesters would be able to tell you). So, as soon as I get a mail from LDChen telling me it's time to go public, I can have a release ready in no time...

FPSE has AmigaInput support since 2005 I think, and Altivec optimizations since about that time too.

Overlay might be a good thing to add though...

That would be piracy...

How can I setup the great emulator FPSE to finally play
with it?

Is it so complicated?

May I wait to see it on OS4.0 Final?

1. Make sure you are using the latest version from http://www.amidog.com/
2. Start FPSE-GUI.
3. Go to the plugin page, choose cdimage.dll (if using an ISO) or cdrom.dll (if using a CD) as cd plugin.
4. If using cdrom.dll, you need to press Configure and tell it which device and unit to use.
5. When done, make sure you press "Save settings" and then choose Start CD.

I have tried this, but I only get the same screen with memory card and cdrom options.
What's the matter?

Trying hard to see FPSE working!

I get a "fpse009dll.exe failed returncode 20" (regardless
of which Read Mode i use) when using cdrom.dll and a PSX CD.
The GUI can "Autodetect Read Mode" without problems so it's
not a problem of not finding the device.

Plus the latest version locks up after exit, not sure though,
may be the GUI acting up.

Another minor issue is that i have to choose the Image file
again after choosing the image from the GUI and "Start File".

That is, if you take bugreports at all

@MamePPCA1

It means that there is no CD/image found.
You need a .bin file, .iso won't work (or so i have been
told). Ripped all my PSX games into .bin/.cue's and they
work quit well.

Otherwise he wouldn't have reached the Memory card/CD player
screen. It's inbuilt into the bios.

It seems the latest public version doesn't work properly with the latest OS4

"Start File" is only for homebrewn games and demos. You should not choose the image from the GUI, but press "Start CD" and then choose the image file when asked for it.

But leaving the GUI field blank and choosing Start CD nothing happens
(cdimage.dll and cdrom.dll), the same goes for Start File

I'm one of those betatesters I don't have a lot of time these days to play, but I did try the latest beta a couple of months ago and I have to say it is fantastic, a huge improvement from the older versions. I can play Final Fantasy VII and even its intro now plays perfectly smooth, no pauses anymore. I really think it's time for a release ;)
