What is your input settings ? I mean language, keyboard, etc, etc, so i can recreate the same on my setup and do tests.

Thats probably what i was fear of : replacement for conversion from utf8 to our stuff via codesets.library did't done properly and still need some rework.

Ok, now copy and paste seems correct, atleast in NotePad
Very good

As for the crash, just try this:

1 - Download a new copy of VPDF
2 - Extract it in RAM Disk:
3 - Open VPDF and select a PDF file from the "open recent" menu

The crash happens using the PDF file of DvPlayer, but probably not related to a specific PDF file

P.S.
Such red border around the PDF document is well .. quite horrible .. it's ok for the thumbnails but not for the main visualization imho, can you remove it as it was in beta 5 ?

Is it reproducable all the time ?

Sorry but that how it done in original (i specially checked on morphos - its the same red borders everywhere). Before it was black because of bug, now it is as author planned.

Is it crash happens with last binary (to_samo.zip) only, or with beta6 as well ? i just can't reproduce it here. I even tried exactly DvPlayer_Manual.pdf (567.720 of size) and all ok.

Maybe your DvPlayer_Manual.pdf not in english but in italian ?

I also see on your screenshot, you have "Introductio" , without last "n". Is it the same and for beta6 and for to_samo.zip ? Did you sure you use codesets.library which included in the beta6.zip archive, and not some codesets.library from your libs: directory which you copy back to vpdf ?

I need to reproduce it here, or i can't fix it.

Probably don't go, need to know exactly :) Plz make more tests and answer on all questions i wrote, so i maybe can reproduce it myself.

And your "listtree" looks quite similar to one i have before in mui (by default?) which i don't get how to make back again, all the options seems different.

1) downloaded your pdf in RAM:

2) Opened vpdf v1.1 (15/01/2017)

3) drag'n dropped RAM:DvPlayer_Manual.pdf in vpdf

4) closed vpdf

5) opened vpdf

6) RMB / "Open Recent" and select RAM:DVPlayer...

7) no crash reading the whole pdf

Thanks for tests. I also can't reproduce it sadly ..

@samo
Can you reproduce it again ? Very possible that your mui ListTree settings somehow trigger that crash (as you didn' see images in listtree, and your word in LisTree of dvplayer's pdf links Introduction didn't have last "n").

Opens fine here , no crash (v.1.1).
By the way, it`s very fast also (draw & preview pages)!

Mmm right, that's probably because currently i'm using a bigger font ?
I mean probably there is too low space to fit the entire text .. try it

Should't be the case. For me it is probably of missing images in your ListTree. But check this again after you update mui till last nightly. And anyway, what your font exactly, and what font size exactly.

Can you today spend sometime so we can deal with ? And please, full step by step. What you do and how to get that missing "n" at end.

Perhaps you should follow my advise to add some output of the chapter titles to the shell before they are added to the listtree, just to make sure they are correct before MUI gets hands on them.

If they get printed out correctly, then it is MUI's fault, otherwise VPDF is guilty.

It doesn't matter who produces the output. If only samo can reproduce it, ok. But without this information we are just guessing what might be causing the missing character instead of pointing out facts.

New version, which probably will go on os4depot after few days if all is ok:

-- fixed copy to clipboard bug where "special" symbols didn't works before (such as german's umlauts, etc).
-- added some more checks in codesets replacement functions which may fix some potential problems.
-- fixed crash when run vpdf, spawn mui settings window from it, and then close vpdf itself. Bug are original one from morphos and probably should be fixed in morphos version as well (thanks Thore)
-- fixed conversion of foreign characters in text conversion routines: when PDF have Content Links and text in them have for example something like word "don't" , it was converted as "don?t". Now you will have all renders correctly (thanks Thore)
-- added french catalog from zzd10h
-- added new icons from Mason as they a bit more polished

Ouch sorry for delay .. i had very limited time for anythings

I think to have found how to reproduce the problem of the latest letter (the text cutted off)

In "Listtree" settings of MUI:

In "Style" i had --> Normal ---> Now if you open VPDF you can see that the last "n" is cutted off, atleast here

But:

If in "Style" i choose --> Win95 ---> Now when i open VPDF the entire text will be showed correctly

So for some reason "Normal" style (aka no image in listtree seems to "limit" the space, while instead if an image is present the entire text will fit on)

About the system font currently i'm using DejaVu Sans/18 .. yes a big font for my poor eyes )

Plz answer also on that questions:

1. Is your crash reproducable with beta7 ?
2. If your crash reproducable with beta7, is it reproducable when you have missing "n" only, or in any case ? (remember: ! do tests after hard reboots !)
3. What your mui version on which you did your tests.

Also, something wrong with your mui still. You seems didn't update it sinse few days. There, when i choice in ListTree "normal", i have in right "+" image, and in down "-" image. I also for test purposes setuped DejaVu Sand/18 too.

But, the same as you before (i do not remember on what nigtly), i did have the same issue you have (i.e. missing images). I fixed it only after next or something mui nightly and refreshing listtree settings to default.

There is how it looks like for me when i setup DejaVu Sand/18 and choice "Normal" in the Listtree's mui settings (press "open in new tab" on image to have it in full size).

Resized Image

Sadly you didn't have time, as it all can be sorted easy.

@all
Anyone else who have time and can do tests can reproduce problems samo have ? If no one, i will make beta7 as release version, so no one can blame me that i release buggy port later :)

Vpdf needs a more recent MUI Build (MUI5, r5633). And average users do not have it.

If you release it, many users will complain about that (and I have the latest stable release release installed) since without it, a requester pops up.
